View Full Version : New Domain Discussion

Hey guys, I have yet another community question. All users are more than welcome to provide their input.

Currently, as you guys know, I own a domain called himeuta.net. It has always been part of me to own Himeuta (as it is my organization's name), but honestly perhaps we could attempt to switch to a new domain to make it sound more "official".

Feel free to leave suggestions; if you'd like to see whether the name you thought of is available or not, go here (https://www.namecheap.com/) and type in the URL you have in mind. If you see "Make Offer" next to the domain, it's basically taken. I'm mainly looking for .com domain.

If you feel that the current domain is fine, feel free to say that also.

I think the current domain is fine. Lots of the forums that I've frequented in the past have been subdomains to the owner's own domain.

I'm fine with this domain. Simple and classy (?). I just like it

08-04-2014, 06:49 AM
We're used to himeuta already. But if you must. http://nic.moe/en/

08-04-2014, 06:50 AM
god dammit. was gonna say kancolle.moe

08-04-2014, 06:51 AM
Leyana I think it's taken

08-04-2014, 06:52 AM
kantaicollection.moe isn't.

But himeuta feels I dunno.... more 'ours'.

Basically this. If we want a new domain it better have a .moe in it because most of us like this one.

Himeuta is fine with me
It sound original and no plagiarism

08-04-2014, 07:30 AM
I like the current domain... Have always considered this to be "The Himeuta Kancolle Forums" and I'm resistant to change. :p

CaptBauxite No shame in using the Nova scheme. I'm using it too.

Himeuta domain is fine. It's unique that's why it's good. Being official should not be attributed to how it is named, so I say.

On the technical side, I'm quite believer of if it ain't broke, don't fix it mantra unless if this is part of some modernization plan or it would fix an issue we have (just like the switch to vBulletin).

himeuta is fine,....
but if it's taken,..... let's have a poll.

Himeuta domain is fine. Name shoud be change only when sometnhing going wrong, it is not the case, so himeuta is fine, original, probably unique. So all green parameters are here!

08-07-2014, 07:26 AM
I like himeuta. It sounds unique and I've to associate the name with the forum.

08-07-2014, 07:31 AM
Himeuta is fine as the domain name for the forums, I see no reason for it to be changed.

08-07-2014, 07:33 AM
We just call the forums "Himeuta." I think it's part of this here identity.

08-07-2014, 07:34 AM
Guys, Guys...

What about HIMEUTA.MOE

The perfect compromise!

08-07-2014, 07:34 AM
Himeuta works just fine.

08-07-2014, 07:35 AM
I like Himeuta the way it is

08-07-2014, 07:37 AM
I believe the current domain is fine. I don't want to give up "himeuta' just for the ".com".

08-07-2014, 07:37 AM
Like everyone else, I think Himeuta is perfectly fine.

We're used to himeuta already. But if you must. The .moe Domain is Here! (http://nic.moe/en/)

+1 I support this

This topic needs no discussion

iDuane Fortunately kancolle.moe is already taken.

I'm also pro himeuta, it has that homely feel to it.

though im sorta new here i think that the current domain is fine, like others have said. i wouldn't mind if it changes but i think it's not a big deal.

I think everyone is fine with himeuta. All the Kancolle domains are taken anywho. No need to spend extra money on it, we're kind of strapped right?

I think himeuta is great already
no need to change
just upgrade

08-30-2014, 09:29 AM
I'm happy with Himeuta too. Aside from being used to it, it's also convenient for searching. Any Kancolle content with the word Himeuta close by is most definitely this forum's fault, for example.

09-07-2014, 08:00 AM
I love the domain the way it is; the word "himeuta" has made this place easily distinguishable.

09-07-2014, 08:12 AM
I'm going to chime in agree that Himeuta is fine as it is. Rolls off the tongue easy and gives us a bit of an identity on the internet.

09-07-2014, 08:30 AM
In my opinion, the current one is fine. Looks nice and recognisable.

09-07-2014, 08:52 AM
The current name we have place is fine as is. No real reason to change what helps makes this forum rather recognizable.

09-10-2014, 06:14 PM
I think this one sounds official enough.

09-20-2014, 09:11 AM
I see no problem with himeuta.
Actually, I do.
Saya never told us what it means.
Joking aside, I see no reason for it to be changed. But still, do tell us what it means...

AMA stands for "Ask Me Anything".
I held it here:
Saya | ask.fm/Saya_Himeuta (http://ask.fm/Saya_Himeuta)

Have fun searching.

You're one cruel beast...
But anyway, we went bit too far with this off-topic so yeah.

09-20-2014, 12:17 PM
The answer is not really far !

Thank you to Saya for what she did the last days, and the AMA session !
