so! I used to have a badart thread in the old forums which are now unsalvageable ruins, and here is the sequel-continuation of that.

these are simply things I put up from my tumblr! (http://s-hazelight.tumblr.com/)

I've been drawing loosely here and there whenever I felt like it (about once every few months) between 2008 and 2010, but stopped drawing
much or anything between 2010 to 2015. it was really only last year when I thought I'd pick it up again so I went ahead and found a second hand
intuos tablet and have been drawing digitally only ever since last october! as a result of not colouring since forever, my shading and colouring theory
has really suffered but I hope to pick it up as quickly as possible.

a request by AdmGreyKaiser who seldom comes here anymore:

.. who asked for a drawing of pudding and suzuya, so I drew him and pudding and suzuya because that's how I see their relationship. suzuya gloating over stealing
the admiral's last pudding and poor admgreykaiser can't do anything about it!

(I'll put the rest here later)

a special mention to petit-cheese (if you can read this) for your wonderful help, and misacchi/admgrey for spending the time to critique for me, and tea for being awesome! thank you :')

I don't think this deserves being called "badly". I'd be happy if I could draw like that.

I have a problem with this thread. I can't seem to find the badly drawn art :P

Nice work! :yahagi_happy:

thank you people above!

I've been practising some things recently, then decided to draw something random again. I saw an image of a 'mestiza de sangley' and thought she was really cool, so I drew something in her likeness:

image is too massive help

the original mestiza de sangley image:

her hair is as difficult to draw as it probably is to maintain.......

I drew elphelt from guilty gear because I thought she was a cool character:

this was a quick and crappy drawing (which is evident once zoomed in). I didn't bother polishing this since this was originally meant for a friend and a profile picture, so the small imperfections would not be visible!

A quick and crappy drawing? That there would take me a whole day to draw ._.

Nice work once again!

PrimalBidoof thank you! I'm hoping to improve relative proportions instead of anatomical proportion now, so I get a better all-rounded shape in my drawings. previously I'd really only looked into anatomy and practised that, then one day I realised that my relative anatomy was awful x___x

my first day of a thirty day-challenge instigated by my fellow drawing friend. this struggle is all her fault ahhhhh this was like 45 minute so rushed with everything and my bedtime is so overdue

I'm sure we all know who this person is...

awoo. stupid memes making me feel like spending two three days drawing a character associated with it.

this is momiji inubashiri: a touhou character that I'd probably never heard of (but probably had seen previously) who is known to be the local resident awoo-er. drawing eyes in this way is really fun though; I think I can really get into it......

so instead of levelling ships to not the level they need but the level they deserve, I've been drawing my favourite overwatch hero(ine) this whole time!

I kiiind of got back into drawing traditional after a year, and am quite surprised-yet-not-surprised about the improvements after spending the past year solely drawing digital art!

.. okay I'll admit that I didn't really shade the bricks well, but tooo beee faaair, I never planned to draw a background..! alsoididn'thaveaneraser

Nice! I should get back to traditional art once in a while too, I've gotten too used to being able to ctrl + z every mistake.

The one thing I noticed before everything else was how bent forward her front leg is at the knee. I find that you can get away with that type of thing if you're playing with camera angles and dynamics, but for a straight side shot, it does end up looking a bit painful.

Lempika thanks thanks! and I know right! I thought I was just building bad habits by ctrl+zzzzzz ing everything, but I feel like my traditional drawings have improved a lot since I started drawing solely digital for the past year!

as for bending around the knee, now that you mention it.. it kind of does stick out, doesn't it? q___q despite that, I still.. like it? I think maybe I'm just inclined to overemphasise certain things, and the angle between the knee and shin seems to be one of them! do you still think I should ease it up a bit?

S.Razelrink I guess it'll depend on how realistic you want to approach it, obviously it's not really possible bending your knees that far forward irl. Anatomic inconsistencies stick out a lot easier with straight shots like that (i.e side view, front view) which is why I said doing a more dynamic shot, whether it be camera angle or the pose, lets you get away with doing more overemphasized/unrealistic anatomy.

ahhhhhh I drew a fanart of a fanart scharnhorst! the character was designed by someone else, but I liked it enough to draw it myself :')
Lempika I finally got around to practising skin tones, but I started off with doing a greyscale cel-shade before turning it into a soft shade, then using multiply/luminescence layers to colourise and lighten the thing up!
