    [Summer 2017 E-4] [Reclaim Western front! Operation Rescue U-loop] Stage 4





    This post will be updated with confirmed information pertaining to map E-4 as it is spaded. The thread can also serve as a starting point for people to discuss the map if they want.

    General Event Outline, Participation Requirements and Difficulty System



    To participate in this event, you must have a sortie win rate of 75% or above. You also need at least 5 spare Kanmusu slots and 20 equipment slots. Completely depleting the health bar and therefore clearing the map will lock it in the chosen difficulty, it cannot be changed afterwards.

    Please be aware that it is not possible to increase the difficulty between maps by more than one. As an example if you have cleared E-1 on "Easy" you will not be able to select "Hard" for E-2; only "Medium" will be available. However players will be able to choose "Hard" again for E-3 if you pick "Medium" on E-2 for this specific scenario. This does not affect the ability to decrease difficulty; players will still be able to choose "Easy" after clearing the previous map on "Hard".

    To form a combined fleet, click on the second fleet's flag icon in the composition screen, and drag it to the first fleet's flag icon.
    The requirements for the surfaced combined fleet (水上打撃部隊) are as follows:

    And E4 cleared. Gosh, that took a lot of time.

    As in E3, there is probably some kind of gimmick for this map. I WILL NOT recommend attempting this map until info about the EOs and the gimmicks are revealed. This is just a very brief summary of what I used in this map. Will update more details once more info is revealed.

    This map is also divided to 2 parts. First part is against a Summer CV oni combined fleet. Not particularly troublesome opponent, so I will just leave the comp I use here:

    Fleet: 2BB2CVL1CA1CAV + 1CL3DD2CA Fighter power at around 500 (might not be ideal). AACI is recommended.

    Route: D>A>B>C>G>H>I

    LBAS: 1 fighter 3 bomber. Sent everything to boss



    Part 2:
    Fleet: (fighter power around 380. AACI is optional, as damage is quite lacking here)
    Haruna: gun/gun/ap/recon
    Hiei: gun/gun/ap/recon
    Furutaka: gun/gun/gun/recon
    Chitose: tb/tb/fighter/recon
    Chiyoda: tb/tb/fighter/fighter
    Mikuma: fighter x4

    Yukikaze: torp x3
    Abkm: oto/oto/midget sub
    Teruzuki: 10cm HAFD/10cm HAFD/radar
    Akatsuki: 10cm HAFD/10cm HAFD/searchlight
    Nachi: gun/gun/night scout/radar
    Prinz Eugen: torp/torp/gun/star shell

    LBAS: 4 bomber. All sent to boss node.


    The main problem of this map is the toughness of this boss. While her escort is rather poor, she has 730 hp and 270 armor, meaning she is impenetrable with DA. It is not rare to fail killing the boss despite in a 6 vs 1 scenario. It is not recommended to use CLT here, as it will lead to one more battle against depot hime. Since then, the key to this map is the amount of TCI ships you have after considering the other maps. Also noted that it is quite likely that Prinz Eugen has special damage bonus in this map. We do not know the amount of the bonus, nor if there is other ships with bonus damage yet. It is thus recommended to wait until these info are revealed.


    The other problem is the preboss nodes. There are a total of 2 normal battles, a submarine node, and an airstrike node. Node support is recommended. For the submarine node, you can try adding Asashio k2d for both oasw and DA, but it is not recommended for LD. The remaining 2 battles are comps with PT imps. Closing torp from imps is a huge threat to your escort fleet, since most of your fleet does not have the required equipment (secondary gun, HA gun, skilled lookout, etc) to reliably hit them. PT imps will also adsorb a large amount of damage from our BB/CA/CVL, making it hard to eliminate the other threats in the same node. You can try equipping secondary guns on ships like ABKM, or TCI CA, to help killing imps, without largely affecting their damage output at boss node.


    E4 P1:

    1BB 2CA(V) 2CV 1CVL + 1CL 3DD 2CA

    Fighter power is 330+ for chipping, and 500+ for LD. Equip your LBAS with 1 fighter+3 bomber, and send everything to boss. There is no speed limit in this map.

    Both STF and CTF are viable for P1. You will get one extra sub node for STF, but STF provides more protection for escort fleet, and would allow you to lock less CV in this map. You can also change one of the DD to CLT. This is, however, not recommended unless you have a lot of dupes. You need CLT for both E3 and E6 more, and unless you bring 3 Euro ships here in hard mode (2 for med, and 1 for easy), you will get unfavorable routing in E4 p2 with 1 CLT. Moreover, the Euro ships are also needed for E5.


    E4 P2:
    STF P2:
    2BB 2CVL 2CA + 2CA 1CL 2DD 1BB or 1DD (Bring Euro ship in order to sub in CLT, in case you are really lack of TCI ships)

    Route: DGHJKMN

    LBAS: 1 fighter 3 bomber. Send everything to boss.

    Fighter power: 290+

    The two main problem of this phase is the toughness of the boss herself, and preboss taiha by pt imp in node J and M. For the former, at least 3 TCI ships are recommended for hard mode. Give up AACI when needed for more hard hitting ships in LD. Remember to evenly distribute your hard hitting nb ships among E3, E4 and E6 though. Since you can bring CLT in E3 and E6, you should focus your best TCI ships in E4. Check here for more ship locking info.

    For the pt imps, bring node support could help a bit. Equipping your ships with skilled lookout/ 2 secondary gun/ 2 machine gun/ 2 HA gun could help with killing them as well, but this will gimp your damage output at boss node. Some comp with these equipment that does not affect nb damage too much are: TCI CA with skilled lookout+2 torp+wild card, high nb power DD with 2 torp+skilled lookout, ABKM with 2 secondary gun+midget sub.

    There are rumors about having Warspite and Prinz Eugen here could give you extra damage bonus. We are not 100% sure about this. However, this is the map that needs good TCI ships (Prinz Eugen) the most, and one of the only two maps with no speed limit. Since then, there should not be too much problem locking these ships here, unless you lack Euro ships for E5 without these ships.

    @211303: As always, thanks for front-lining, posting walkthroughs, etc. And yes, I'm waiting for EO maps unlocked & explored, special mechanics uncovered, etc. (Edit). Hmm... with fleet locking this might be tough in terms of NB TCI ships. Only have one luck modded DD (Ayanami) and may need to save her, especially if I use Prinz Eugen here (also luck modded). Hope (A) E-5 & E-6 are not too bad and E-7 has no locks for Hard.

    hey guys, i got a problem here while sortieing on the first halve of the map on easy mode for farming.
    whenever i sortie with LBAS, i got disconnected
    but normal sortie without LBAS is fine?
    is it some kind of bug or you cant sortie with LBAS on easy?

    Gangut despite being the second FBB (slow) seems to skip node L, though I have Prinz in 2nd fleet.

    Finally cleared this hellhole on hard... took a total 27 sorties to finish it.

    It seems that FBBs don't matter as I changed Gangut to Nagato kai ni for more FP, final fleet was: 1BB 1FBB 1CAV 2CVL 1CA, 3DD(1zuki) 2CA 1CL.

    Cut in didn't do jack sh*t for me, whenever Prinz did it it never gone past the 120 mark... meanwhile every other ship did more damage at night than her so I only used Cut in on Yukikaze and ABKM.
    Even then only ABKM hit the boss for around 180 and the remaining ships chowed her down with 80-100 hits.

    The maps depends on luck, truly.
    If your CVL's don't get rekt along with your 2 BBs AND non of your 2nd fleet gets rekt before NB maybe then you have the chance to kill her (although I was lucky on last dance because the boss lost half health in day battle and only 1 critically damaged BB was alive).

    @Shadowfury How many TCI ships are you using, and how many is still not locked? Also, how many enemy are alive before night battle?

    Just one, and I've gone down to easy so no ship lock concerns now, but I also don't have anyone luck modded so I don't really have anymore. It's down to one or two the majority of the time.

    Also can I just say, you've done a great job frontlining and getting the info. Got a friend who said the Japanese sources are apparently a bit slow because of Comiket. I looked at my watch and realized, it's only the 13th and I'm already 4 maps in haha
