    Fall 2017 E-3] Showdown at Operation Sho-Go! Battle of Leyte Gulf (Part 1)





    This post will be updated with confirmed information pertaining to map E-3 as it is spaded. The thread can also serve as a starting point for people to discuss the map if they want.

    General Event Outline, Participation Requirements and Difficulty System



    To participate in this event, you must have a sortie win rate of 75% or above. You also need at least 5 spare Kanmusu slots and 20 equipment slots. Completely depleting the health bar and therefore clearing the map will lock it in the chosen difficulty, it cannot be changed afterwards.

    Please be aware that it is not possible to increase the difficulty between maps by more than one. As an example if you have cleared E-1 on "Easy" you will not be able to select "Hard" for E-2; only "Medium" will be available. However players will be able to choose "Hard" again for E-3 if you pick "Medium" on E-2 for this specific scenario. This does not affect the ability to decrease difficulty; players will still be able to choose "Easy" after clearing the previous map on "Hard".





    General E-3 Map Information

    Sortie Mode: Combined

    Fleet locking: Ships which sortied on E-3 and E-4

    Bossnode HP:

    To form a combined fleet, click on the second fleet's flag icon in the composition screen, and drag it to the first fleet's flag icon.
    The requirements for the surfaced combined fleet (水上打撃部隊) are as follows:

    While we are facing AD hime again, she is significantly weaken this time. Even in hard mode LD, she only has 223-ish armor. You will not encounter much problem as long as you have 1-2 TCI in your disposal. All ships equipped with sonar are OASW capable here. You might also want to replace Akitsuki with a duckie here for better AACI.

    LBAS: 4 bomber to boss. 1 fighter+3 bomber is another choice.

    Support: Shelling for boss, Aerial ASW for node.




    Optimized version:
    4BB2CVL 1CL2DD3CLT

    Route: ABCDEFG

    Fighter power: Either 390+ for AS at all air raid nodes and AS+ at boss, or around 260 for AP in the air raid nodes, and AS at boss.

    Support: ASW node support. Shelling for boss.

    LBAS: A team of 4 fighter to node C and F, another team of 4 bomber to boss.

    This fleet takes the longest route, but it is not exactly long at all, and you will still have full ammo at boss. Since then, I do not recommend to gimp yourself for the short route at all. Just take your heaviest fleet with AACI and 2-3 OASW and smash your way through. Not much is needed to say about this part.


    Part 2 - TP bar
    Route: BDEHJ

    FCF is highly recommeded for this part. The boss comp randomly switch between two comps: with or without Red Re. She is in main fleet though, so not a particularly big threat without her opening torp. The main threats are the torpedo squadron nodes, which is why LBAS was sent there.

    LBAS: 4 bomber to E, 4 bomber to J

    Support: Support: Shelling for boss, Aerial ASW for node.


    Part 2.5 - Perfect base defense.

    You will need a perfect base defense to unlock part 3. Just fill your base with you best interceptors. Remember that the anti- bomber and interception stat affect AA, and their actual AA at defense is:

    AA+interception+anti-bomber x2

    Also noted that each interceptor provides 10% additional shoot down rate, while each LBAS fighter provides 7% additional shoot down rate. Carrier fighter does not have this bonus.

    LBAS: 1fighter 3 bomber to boss. In retrospect I should take 2fighter 2 bomber instead for LD in order to lower the AS requirement.

    Support: Shelling for both node and boss

    For hard mode, 6 Ozawa fleet members are needed for the most favorable routing. Less than 6 of them, and you will get extra sub node and airstrike node. If you have 6 of them, the total number of BB and CV will determine whether you will get an extra airstrike at node Q. I think it is worthwhile to have one extra airstrike in order to have BB in first fleet. For the above fleet, you can sub in 2 CLT and still get the same route, as long as you still have 6 Ozawa fleet member in your fleet.

    Boss's chipping comp resembles 6-5's boss, which can be deal with pretty easily with combined fleet and support. The LD comp will get flagship Ne class and Wo kai upgrade, but it is still a relatively easy boss in general. Noted that I did not get AS at LD with this comp, still killed the boss regardless, but you should consider having more fighter in LBAS to lower the AS requirement.

    LBAS: 4 fighter to R, 1 fighter 3 bomber to boss. Send both team to boss at LD.

    Routing ships: 6 Ozawa fleet member in hard mode. In the sample fleet these will be Zuikaku, Chiyoda, Chitose, Tama, Akizuki, Hatsuzuki.

    While this is again not the shortest route, I feel that the fleet for shortest route is a bit too light for node R. This route only has an extra air raid node, which is not a big deal, but you get one more CVB (has to be CVB. Normal CV+zuikaku gets you to N). I also didn't include BB in main fleet since i do not want 2nd shelling at node R, but if you are lacking one of the routing ships, bring Hyuuga/Ise and replace the CA in main fleet.

    Starting with E-3 TP phase in a couple of minutes, stream is live.

    For anyone wondering how to unlock the HP bar for the 3rd phase. You need to get a perfect defense on the LBAS raid. Set both your bases to intercept full with interceptors. It is more cost efficient to do it with the transport fleet. Bring OASW on the 2nd fleet and consider using node support to be able to pass the normal battles. If you didn't get the air raid yet and have to retreat you can go to the next node and see if it triggers and then refresh instead of entering the battle.

    It seems that for P2 of E3 Hard, having Aoba+Kinu+Uranami will allow you to bring a BBV+Taiyou without routing to node C.

    hey guys, my boss HP bar for the part 3 HP bar doesn;t appear after i deplete the transport bar anyone know why??

    @rico271 Currently it is kind of buggy. Me and a couple of people get the p3 hp bar by sorting again till the enemy air raid on our base starts. We get a catbomb as soon as the air raid starts, and after re-logging in, the hp bar spawned.

    Another thing you can try is to get perfect base defense for this air raid, if cat bomb does not occur. Probably should try both at the same time by sorting with both base switched to defense mode.
