    @Leyana

The ones to watch will be full metal panic, BnHA season 3, and Steins;Gate Zero. Everything else is in the "watch because it's on" or "avoid like the plague" category.

Hm... yeah, I'm not honestly hyped for the majority of the titles but here are the ones that I'm totally gonna watch:

    -Hero academia S3
    -Steins;Gate Zero
    -Highschool DXD NEW
-Shokugeki no Souma S3 part 2
    -Persona 5
    -Lostorage conflated
    -Legend of Galactic heroes Remake
    -Captain Tsubasa Remake

And these are the ones that I will try:

-Gundam Build Divers: I missed the hype of the original Gundam Build Fighters so hopefuly this spinoff won't be bad.

-Golden Kamui: I've seen a lot of pics about the main female character that I'm interested to see how this show goes.

-Dorei-ku: This anime got the same treatment as Devilman Crybaby, it will air on netflix and it will be 100% uncensored, the manga is pretty hardcore so I wanna see how far the anime will go.

-Cute Honey Universe: Speaking of Devilman... another classic from Go Nagai? Yes please and thank you very much.

-Akkun to Kanojo: This one will be the romantic show of the season I'm sure of it, so let's see if it delivers, at least the plot seems fun... a tsundere guy? how often you see that.

-Chio-chan no tsuukaguro: "A dramatic extreme going to school comedy"? Boy if that girl doesn't run into a warzone to reach her school I'll drop it.

-Mahou Shoujo Site: Because I wanna see cute girls killing each other, it will probably be a trashy show tho but whatever.

-Sword Art Online: Yes, I admit that I liked Gun Gale the most out of SAO so I hope... and I really hope this spinoff doesn't suck.

-Uma Musume: Horse girls that are athletes and idols? I really wonder who ate the dank brownies to create this thing, I'm sure it will be a fun trainwreck to watch and it will be the meme show of the season.

-Souten no Ken Regenesis: A prequel to first of the north start? Why no one told me there was a prequel... I honestly don't know how to feel about this so I rather watch it and see how it goes.

-Hinamatsuri: That freaking ET parody of the thumbnail killed me, hope it's a good comedy.

-Caligula Effect: Totally not Matrix, regardless I like Matrix so since the themes are similar I guess I'll give it a chance.

-3D Kanojo: I need to have a backup romcom in case everything else fails... hope the last resort doesn't fail tho.

That's my list so far, I'm considering a couple more titles but I rather let people watch those to tell me if they're good or not.

@Kranesh I've seen lots of images from Golden Kamui that aren't appropriate to post here. It's Gintama with the backdrop of a Japanese Western.

    More Lupin III.
Anime of the season right there if it's on par with it's italian counterpart from two years ago.

Souten no Ken too makes me a pretty happy fan this season. I don't need anything else that's airing with these two and pretend I'm back in my nostalgic years.

    Will only return for Yuzuki.

Finally caught up with most of the shows this season. Here are my initial impressions.

    Must Watch:
Hinamatsuri (2018) - A really funny comedy in the vein of Alice to Zouroku. Only the father figure is a yakuza this time... and the daughter figure is irredeemable. The designs and animation is ok but the characters and writing more than make up for it. The comedy is more on the absurd end of the scale but it has moments where they warm your heart then pull the rug out.

Megalo Box - The character designs for this show are pretty old school but the animation is really smooth. I couldn't spot a hint of CG in this show. The story is pretty standard Rocky fare. Down and out boxer competing to rise to the top. Gonna have to suspend your disbelief from a flagpole to stop you from wondering why they aren't all dead or seriously brain damaged yet though. With all the cybernetically enhanced boxing and stuff. Overall a great sports show with a fantastic aesthetic.

Golden Kamuy - Getting this out of the way first, yes the bear looks super shitty in an animated show. But besides that, the animation of the wolf shows they can get CG right if they tried. To be honest, the first episode didn't show much and the animation wasn't that spectacular either. The show is only up here because I've read the manga and I'm expecting great things story and writing wise. It's a wild romp through the Hokkaido wilderness and showcases a culture you don't see very often in media. It's got comedy and action so give it a whirl.

Otaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii - Now this is a cute love story I'm liking very much. The character designs are pretty good; they remind me of Gekkan Shoujo. The animation is very smooth. The characters are the important bit and they are fun to watch. They each have their personality quirks and are amusing to see interact with one another. If you like romances, this is definitely one you need to see.

Steins;Gate 0 - I fully admit I've forgotten most of what has gone on in the original show. That said, this one does neatly pick up where the original left off. Some things have changed, and others have not. But the overall package is still great. It gets the atmosphere of the original right. Looking forward to seeing how this goes.

    Worth A Watch:
Amanchu! Advance - I must admit, although I like the whimsical feeling of the show; it's kind of hard to get into it when it's set in reality instead of on some fantastic place elsewhere. That said, this still is a nice comforting show to watch. Solid animation and funny reaction faces make this entertaining. If you liked the first season, or are just a fan of comfy anime, watch this.

Gegege no Kitarou (2018) - A detective anime with a ghostbusters twist to it. The character designs are kind of old school but the stories are interesting. There's lots of playing with worst like Bakemonogatari but thankfully so much less philosophy. Currently looks to be episodic but hopefully a plot happens.

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - At this point, the only good thing I can say about the show is that it's very nicely animated. The characters look like they've jumped right out of a male idol anime though. This is up here because the name has quite a bit of history so I'm looking forward to see what they do with it. Also because it really is very nicely animated.

Tada-kun wa Koi o Shinai - There's just something about this show that makes me want to watch more. It's just a typical downtown boy meets uptown girl story with them bonding over photography. The characters are interesting and lively; really makes you want to see how their relationship progresses.

3D Kanojo: Real Girl - Starting disclaimer; the MC here is denser than lead and is seriously socially stunted. That said, part of the show's charm is watching him grow into a functional human being. The character designs are nice but the personalities leave a lot to be desired. The initial episodes really leave the viewer confused as to why the hell the relationship happened in the first place but I really do hope later episodes will shed some light on that. Got quite a bit of potential for future development.

Comic Girls - A cute girls doing cue things show that resembles Urara Meirouchou a lot. The character designs are really cute and give off a very Gochuumon vibe. They're also very amusing and the antics are a treat to watch. So far nothing too special to make it stand out but they got the execution down pat.

Gurazeni - A sports anime with a twist. It's not following some glamorous star or underdog but just some guy trying to make a living. Instead of focusing on the sport itself, this show tries to give you a look inside the inner workings of the industry as a whole. It makes it all feel strictly grounded in reality. Whether you find that boring or not depends on what stage of life you're in. But it's still an interesting show.

Caligula - This show made me think it was a Persona show in disguise. The first episode just leaves you baffled as to what is going on but does leave some clues to the attentive viewer. The character designs just scream "Persona" and the theme doesn't do much to dissuade people of drawing comparisons. That said, the imitator can sometimes be better than the original and this show is showing that it has the potential to do just that.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu (2018) - More random mythological gags. Still good and more of the same so go check it out if you liked the first three.

Persona 5 the Animation - As per the usual, I still have no idea what the hell is going on but the production values and past history are enough to get me to stick around to see what happens. It's still Persona so expect the same philosophising, symbolism and great animation you get in all the previous installments. One to keep an eye on.

Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori - Handsome men doing handsome things. But yeah, it's a slice of life about 4 dudes running a restaurant. It's a pretty decent show even if you're not into dudes. Swap them with girls and the story wouldn't change a bit. Well except an all girl cast would have implied yuri. All in all another comfy anime to keep you comfy during the week.

Last Period: Owarinaki Rasen no Monogatari - I didn't expect much from an anime adaptation of a gachashit game but this show impressed me. Instead of going all in trying to animate whatever shitty lore was written as a flimsy premise to suck money out of people, it went the way of just going meta and poking fun at everything. If you like meta humour with a side of cute and colourful characters, then this show is for you. If you like a funny fantasy slice of life that will remind you a bit of Recettear, then this one is for you too.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Now I know what you're thinking but hear me out. First off, the character designs and animation are good. Secondly, this is an actual sports anime about girls racing. Only the girls happen to be the embodiment of horses. If you can get past them calling each other by stupid names, then the overall show isn't as stupid as other premises out there. I mean, Keijou was fantastic, so I'm willing to give this a chance.

Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi - A male harem show with a MC that isn't a audience insert character! That alone makes it stand head and shoulders above the rest of similar shows. All the characters are interesting and some have hidden depths that you want to see. Definitely not your average reverse harem.

Fumikiri Jikan - This is more of a short story anthology that takes place at a railroad crossing. It's just a pair of people having a 3 minute long conversation each time. Really captures the springtime of youth. It's funny and cute so check it out.

    To Pass The Time:
Mahou Shoujo Ore - I don't even know what the hell I'm watching. This whole show is a cruel joke played on anime fans. But the meme potential is top tier. Being serious though, it's a standard magical girl show with a gender bender gimmick. Also tons of ecchi jokes at the expense of the MCs.

Tokyo Ghoul:Re - It's been so long since the last season that I've forgotten most of what is going on. Looking at it objectively, it's a show with good production values and a colourful cast. But since I'm following the manga and know how badly it loses the plot in the end. I'm kind of apprehensive about wasting my time with this.

Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru: Dances with the Dragons - So what I've seen in the first episode makes this show out to be generic fantasy crap. But what I've heard around the place is that this is a really dark and deep story. As it stands, it certainly hasn't done anything to evidence that. The animation is average and so are the character designs. The only thing that stands out right now is how one of the MCs is in an actual healthy relationship. Other than that, it's got a very noire atmosphere to it.

Lostorage Conflated WIXOSS - I still can't believe they're still making this series. The story is starting to get old at this point and nothing I've seen in the first episode seems to indicate any change in direction. From what I see, they're trying to clean up in the aftermath of the final battle and unravel the latest WIXOSS mystery. I'm only watching this at the moment because I've followed this from the start.

Mahou Shoujo Site - This show has more edge than Unlimited Blade Works. Every single character in the show is such an absolute caricature that it's hard to feel empathy for any of them. It's so much of a caricature that it's gone far beyond tragedy and is teetering on being a comedy. The only other way to pack this much edge into a show is to let Gillette design it. It honestly feels like someone decided to publish a revenge porn therapy journal of a bullying victim.

Cutie Honey Universe - This is an anime from a bygone era and it really shows. Every single thing about the show feels so cliche now. There's little reason to watch this show beyond historical curiosity. If you want to know where ecchi came from, then here it is. Otherwise just pass.

Nil Admirari no Tenbin Teito Genwaku Kitan - This is another reverse harem show that looks pretty much standard. The MC does have more personality than others from the same genre but so far it's following the same steps as other shows. That said, at least the male leads aren't trying to charm the socks off the MC right from the start.

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online - I really have no idea why the hell I'm still watching this. But I will give it a tick for not focusing on Kirito et al anymore. Having a new set of characters take the lead is a bonus point. This turns it into a standard action anime. Nothing special animation or plot wise so far.

Jikkenhin Kazoku: Creatures Family Days - This is way down here but I do like this show. It's a slice of life show about a genetically modified family of freaks. It's funny and heartwarming and the character designs are pretty good. More than what I'd expect from a Chinese cartoon. It also has the best looking spider girl I've ever seen. Why can't more spider girls be designed like her?

Dorei-ku The Animation - The premise behind this is iffy at best. The story for the first episode is all over the place too. On the plus side the art is nice. That's all it has going for it at the moment.

    Stay Away:
Omae wa Mada Gunma o Shiranai - I can't decide if this is a blatant advertisement or just a bunch of memes about Gunma. But in either case, don't bother.

Souten no Ken: Regenesis - I can stand all CG shows and I can put up with bad CGI but this one feels even worse than Berserk. It might be because the source material is old but the characters all feel bland and the designs resemble bricks more than human beings.

Uchuu Senkan Tiramisu - This show is pretty much just one big ridiculous comedy with the backdrop of a space opera to throw you for a loop. It's not funny.

Alice or Alice - This is the ecchi trash for the season. It's a slice of life short with cute girls.

Tachibana-kan to Lie Angle - More ecchi yuri action with no underlying plot.

Akkun to Kanojo - Mentally ill guy really loves his girl but verbally abuses her to her face. That is exactly as interesting as it sounds.

Devils` Line - The show did start with an interesting Tokyo Ghoul like premise but didn't do anything special or memorable with it.

Wakaokami wa Shougakusei! - This is just a bunch of misunderstandings and miscommunications trying to be funny.

Butlers: Chitose Momotose Monogatari - I struggle to put into words how generic this anime is. It's just paint by numbers yaoi bait with some superpowers slapped on. I have no fucking idea what happened in the first episode and it doesn't even inspire me to want to know.

I know this isn't everything but I'll be catching the last few shows this week and will update then.

    @Leyana:

    You forgot full metal panic.

    As for my own list:

    Must Watch:
Darling in the Franxx: with its 12th, 13th, and 14th episodes this anime has really come into its own. I know it's a winter anime, but it deserves mention here for the sheer level of worldbuilding and quality of direction in epsiode 13 (as well as the Mount Everest's worth of salt generated by episode 14).

Hinamatsuri: It's superpowered comedy that gives inou-batturu (when superpowered battles become commonplace) a run for its money in gag humor and sheer zaniness. They've managed to pull off the anime's artstyle really well, too. Leyana's right about the comparison with Alice to Zokuro, but where AtZ goes for drama and shonen, Hinamatsuri goes for sheer absurdity.

Full Metal Panic Invisible Victory: 14 years on and Full Metal Panic begins to take a very dark turn indeed as everyone goes for their final gambits. The art, animation, and pacing are all rock solid, and while it's not the best thing since sliced bread, it's well worth the watch.

Stein's Gate Zero: this is the arc where everything that can go wrong will, the arc where Okabe failed to save Kurisu and didn't destroy her paper. In some senses it's a sequel, but it's also a prequel at the same time, the dark distorted mirror that spawns everything that leads to Okabe's perfect ending in Stein's Gate.

    Worth a look:

Legend of Galactic Heroes: The New Thesis:
If you've ever wondered what Gundam would be like without mecha, this is it. Large, set piece, naval battles in space with stupidly large numbers of ships and pretty-boy admirals who look more at home in a chess anime or a male idol anime than in a space opera. It's worth a look, but honestly feels like romance of the three kingdoms in space; it trudges along for the most part, so if you can stomach all the male preening surrounded by lots of lasers, go ahead, be my guest.

Mahou Shoujo Ore: This one stradles the line between watchable and unwatchable. It's a comedy that makes its business by poking fun at the standard magical girl show, and takes itself entirely seriously at that, in the same vein (but vastly less irritating than) Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan and Sora no Otoshimono. Really, it's one of those shows that's so bad that it actually becomes good, and as Leyana commented, it's prime meme material just for the absurdity of what happens. Saki, the show's heroine, is in a class all her own in terms of hilarity.

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online: As a world-building show, GGO is excellent, and quite a refreshing take. It's hardly anime of the season, but is at least worth trying if you do like the universe but don't want broken mary-sue/Gary-Stus like Kirito and Co.

Megalo Box: Seems a bit dated, but also looks well worth the watch. A reboot of an old classic.

Stay well away, wear hazmat suit if near:

    Highschool DxD: NEW:
Honestly, the series has worn out its welcome by now. We know what it is, what will happen, etc. I have a low tolerance for open fanservice shows like this these days, because my reaction is:

Stop teasing the fans, and just let them fuck and develop a genuine romance already.

Cutey Honey Universe: The reboot sounded interesting right until I saw the first five minutes of the first episode, with the villains deliberately drawn ugly and a monster named, quite literally, "breast claw." No, I'm not joking. The morals, characterization, and plot are so dated on this one that I'm honestly shocked that anyone thought authorizing it for production was a good idea.

Caligula: The premise was interesting; people trapped in a digital world. I expected a slow burn that let the viewers imagine............then came the last five minutes of the show, in a twist so jarring that it had all the subtlety of nuclear bomb. It seems like a bad clone of Guilty Crown, and everything just seems subpar.

@firemagnet I didn't. It wasn't out when I did my batch download. Still to come: DxD, Full Metal Panic, Hisone to Masotan, Isekai Izakaya, To Be Hero and FLCL.
