    Advice on leveling ships

I've been leveling all the new ships that I got from the winter event and it got me thinking: would 5-4 work as a good power-leveling spot?

So far, I've been using 3-2A because no bucket/repair cost, no waiting for morale, reliable flagship MVP and able to level 5 ships at once. I have a CV flag + (F)BB + sub + any 3 ships to leech XP (usually destroyers or CVs). I'll turn to 4-3 once I start to push my destroyers to K2, but for now, I'm living in 3-2.

However, 5-4 has better XP per node and from what I remember (haven't touched the map for months), it wasn't all that hard. That said, is it a viable power-leveling map for low-level (as in, non-kai) ships? Or is it more cost-efficient to stay in 3-2 & 4-3, assuming that I don't really care about ranking?

There's more to it, but the short answer is 5-4 is better for any ships that can make the north route. I think 4-3 is still better for DDs and CLs

I see. I guess I'll switch over to 5-4 then. I was mostly interested in whether I can take my level 1 Intrepid/Gambier Bay/Ark Royal etc into that map and not get horribly murdered in the process. Like I said, I haven't done 5-4 in so long that I don't really recall much about the difficulty.

@friggo As long as your fully mod the said ship first and put her in flagship, a lv1 CV/BB/CA will be do just fine in 5-4. Gambier bay would be annoying to level in 5-4 though since she is slow.

TBH, the only thing 3-2a good for is saving bucket. 5-4 is better in terms of both exp/resources and exp/time. Just remember to avoid putting plane in larger than 18 slot, get AS+, and bring at least 4 barrel, and you will be fine.

I understand that you don't care about ranking but it's not all that bad since leveling and ranking goes hand in hand on 5-4.

5-4 is the best if you want multipurpose ranking+power leveling in one; I pretty much always do ranking when doing this method since the XP is so good.

I leveled and maybe even got into top 20 this month with 2 DD(full drums) 2CV/L-3CV/L(shoukaku+zuikaku farm for rockets) 1-2FBB - with this, only ammo and buckets will become an issue since you get 160 fuel if you reach the fuel node and bauxite isn't too bad if you're willing to risk less stable daytime S ranks on boss node.

Got Intrepid from 50 to 144 + Zuiho to 140 from 99, Jervis and Tashkent from their Kais to 133, Roma from 144 to 150, Richelieu from 134 to 146 all the while getting nearly 34+ rockets in about 20 days.
