[Early Fall 2018 E-2] Weigh Anchor! Combined Fleet, to the West!

This post will be updated with confirmed information pertaining to map E-2 as it is spaded. The thread can also serve as a starting point for people to discuss the map if they want.

Disclaimer: Information in this thread is subjected to change when new or additional data is made available.

    Northern Straits of Malacca

General Event Outline, Participation Requirements and Difficulty System

To participate in this event, you must have a sortie win rate of 75% or above. You also need at least 5 spare Kanmusu slots and 20 equipment slots. Completely depleting the health bar and therefore clearing the map will lock it in the chosen difficulty, it cannot be changed afterwards.

    Event Map Summary
    Operation Locking Fleet type
    E-1 Normal
    E-2 Normal
    E-3 Normal+CTF
    EO-1 Normal+TCF+STF
EO-2 Only matters for Hard mode CTF (Force H) & STF (Rheinburg)

*There will be no fleet locking on easy and casual difficulty

Please be aware that it is not possible to increase the difficulty between maps by more than one. As an example if you have cleared E-1 on "Easy" you will not be able to select "Hard" for E-2; only "Medium" will be available. However players will be able to choose "Hard" again for E-3 if you pick "Medium" on E-2 for this specific scenario. This does not affect the ability to decrease difficulty; players will still be able to choose "Easy" after clearing the previous map on "Hard".

    General E-2 Map Information

    Difficulty:

    Sortie Mode: Normal

    Fleet locking:

TP bar for P1: ?-300 (hard), ?-200 (normal), ?-?(easy), ?-180 (casual)
(TP bar depends on HQ level)

Numbers of clean kills needed for clear: 5 (hard), ? (normal), ? (easy), ? (casual)

Here's the short summary of this map. Will update a more detail version once I am more conscious and there is more info.

    P1
    Fleet: 1CA 1CAV 3DD 1CL

Both support are recommended. LBAS with 4 bomber to boss.

    P2

    Fleet: 1CA 1CAV 1CVL 3DD

2 of the DD should use marine daihaitsu or 11th regiment+wg+kami tank build, as the boss is DJ hime. The huge passive bonus will ensure that DD can oneshot her most of the time. Fighter power 250+. Use vanguard formation for first and third preboss node, and diamond for the air raid node. Both support are recommended.

These are now outdated. Please refer to the walkthrough.

E2 might need Haguro and Kasumi?

    E2 Walkthrough (Hard mode)

    P1

    Comp:
    FBB: main gun+main gun+ap shell+scout
    CVL: DB/TB/Fighter/saiun
    Daihaitsu CL: Daihaitsu+sonar+DC (for OASW)
    Daihaitsu DD: Daihaitsu x3
    Daihaitsu DD: Daihaitsu x3
    CA: main gun+main gun+scout+radar

    Route: ACDFGI

    LBAS: 4 bomber to I

    Support: Both are recommended

    Note:
As this is a transportation phse, the aim of this comp is to reach boss safely and get as many tp as possible with A rank. The only thing worth mentioning about this part is node D, which has a flagship sub with 5 surface ship in line ahead formation. OASW and vanguard formation are recommended here. Remember to put your ASW ship in the first 3 slots when using vanguard formation, as they get a higher ASW modifier there.

    P2

    Chipping comp:
    Daihaitsu DD: 11th regiment+WG+Kami tank
    Daihaitsu CL: kami tank+sonar+DC (OASW)
    Duckie: 10cm hafd+10cm hafd+AA radar
    CA: main gun+main gun+scout+T3 shell
    CV: TBM/F6F-5N/F6F-3N/NOAP
    CVL: TB/fighter/fighter/fighter

    LD comp:
    CA: main gun+main gun+scout+T3 shell
    Daihaitsu DD: 11th regiment+WG+Kami tank
    Daihaitsu DD: marine daihaitsu+WG+Kami tank
    Daihaitsu CL: kami tank+sonar+DC (OASW)
    Duckie: 10cm hafd+10cm hafd+AA radar
CV: fighter x4 (or add a saiun if you lack LOS)

    Route: DFEKMO

    LBAS: 4 bomber to O

    Support: Both are recommended

    Note:
The boss is a supply depot hime variant, which means stacking different types of anti-installation equipment will provide a huge bonus against her. As far as ship choice is concerned, remember to avoid using any Euro ship and historical in E3. Kaga will make a pretty good choice for CV, while Arashio/Michishio/Asashio/Ooshiyo are decent daihaitsu DD choices. I also specifically avoid using BB here to skip 2nd shelling in node M. 5 fighters should give you AS in all nodes.

For LD, an Airport hime will be added in the comp, and being a soft skin installation, your daihaitsu DD are not very effective against her. Consider putting the CA with T3 shell in front of your daihaitsu carrier in case you need to enter night battle.

    @211303
Thank you for the great walkthrough. Couple of questions:
    a. Can I replace CA with CAV during TP phase? I'd prefer putting single SPF rather than sacrificing whole CVL plane slot.
    b. Speed doesn't matter right, so BBV is also viable?

    @allaire

    a. Yes, but remember that we do not know how many CAV you would need in E4-5 yet. Be careful when you are dedicating CAV in any maps. Also, there is no enemy CV for the entire TP phase. As long as you have any planes, you will get AS+. The fighter on CVL is for triggering the best CVCI.

    b. yes, speed doesn't matter.

Yeah totally forgot about that lol.

Just cleared TP part, with listed fleet it was a complete roflstomp with no retreats and several day S-ranks. Without any supports. On hard.

    Another question.
    Chipping comp:
    Daihaitsu DD: 11th regiment+WG+Kami tank
    Daihaitsu CL: kami tank+sonar+DC (OASW)
    Duckie: 10cm hafd+10cm hafd+AA radar
    CA: main gun+main gun+scout+T3 shell
    CV: TBM/F6F-5N/F6F-3N/NOAP
    CVL: TB/fighter/fighter/fighter
Ships listed in order from top to bottom? Looks kinda weird to me, is that for more effective use of Vanguard at M node?

@allaire yes, the whole objective of this phase is to get your daihaitsu DD safely to boss, and wait for them to hit boss. As long as they hit boss at green health it is very likely a clean kill. The heavy ships are at 4-6th slot so their firepower will not be affected. You will have one round of shelling only anyway, so order doesn't really matter at node M.

Well order matters for vanguard bonuses and penalties.

@allaire ah, by that I mean order doesn't affect shelling order at node M.
