    @firehawk12: Watch your fleet locking. About to start on E-5 detailed planning, but I have in notes that I need an AO for E-5. There's also the issue about locking CV, etc. IMO this is a very historic ship bonus centered event, and you definitely want to have all the right historic ships around for E-4 & E-5 (e.g. Tone & Chikuma for E-4H REALLY helps for final kill).

    E-3 HP Gauge 2 can be somewhat of a slog. Took me 17 sorties with 9 retreats (so just under 50% pass rate) and I had 2 failed final kill attempts before clearing. So if you're getting about a 50% pass rate WITH Node Shelling support (no sparkling - screw that for STF/CTF if not in general), at least in my experience it's not unusual.

    **FYI - I may have been cutting it a bit close with my airpower. I made sure to always verify I got AS at the Boss node (which I did).

    Definitely use Node Shelling Support here IMO. I recommended 2x46cm triple + 2x HQ RADAR (e.g. T32 or FuMO25) on BB for Node support.

    IMO not worth fighter mule both CVL for AS at Node J. You need a LOT of airpower for that for an STF and now you've eliminated two ships in your comp from attacking. Even a CVL with CVCI load out can do some surprisingly good damage.

    [Edit} Check my notes and I ended up putting an RE on Comm Teste for 12cm Rockets K2 hax/op AACI. Thought about putting RE and 12cm Rockets K2 on CVL, but they seemed to be doing OK (unlike Junyou & Zuihou K2b for E-2. Those got RE & Rockets K2 as well). I've used probably 8 RE so far in this event - not all for Rockets K2, but certain a few if not most. Up to you/depends on how many RE you have (or if willing to buy more), which ships seem to be getting tagged & causing retreats, etc.

    I don't think you must (i.e. literally required) to have RE and 12cm Rockets K2 for this map, but hax/op ship AACI is hax/op AACI. :/

    Hope this helps some & GL. Also, seems new & improved Friend Fleet for E-3 is on the way tomorrow(?). Won't help with passing, but will help when you do. MIGHT be possible to change comps somewhat for better passing rate if new & improved friend fleet is markedly better.

    I used Roma in place of Taihou during my first runs (2 main guns, seaplane, ap/sanshiki) but I didn't like the results after the day battle (they were similar with Taihou) since airfield hime always survived and the boss didn't take much damage. However, to kill the boss you only need the crits of Nachi and Ashigara at night and one of the reasons I had only 2 S-rank at the boss was because one of them couldn't attack.

    urgs -.- so my Tama @Mainfleet Nr5 is a problem here. Any suggestions for a good replacement? Because I try to abuse Nelson Touch so the spot is important.

    @Tygonius Any daihaitsu DD will be fine if they can carry both daihaitsu and kami tank. Remember to save enough for E4.

    I ended up using the non-Nelson STFs and did it, so thanks for that advice. Honestly the J and O nodes were the real boss of this map....

    Thanks to my real life commitment and the generally difficult-to-pass nodes in this map, my progress is really, really SLOW. P1 was kinda easy as I wasn't sent back as often as in P2. Speaking of P2, I got sent back a lot especially at node J. I have to change my fleet (and lock a couple more ships than I intend to) as a result. For P2 LD, it was Tashkent who scored the final kill. Also, both supports used for this map. LBAS are both at Interceptor + 3xLBAS Bomber loadout as well.

    Oh yeah, didn't even need Nelson Touch for this map thanks to Nelson getting herself chuhua-ed at the pre-boss node.
