This is more of a list of bonus ship but not an actual locking guide. Bonus ship overlaps a lot in this event, like abkm (e3-5), kasumi and akagi (e4-5).

I have made a locking guide in another thread addressing that.

Nagato touch will provide more total touch damage if you go all out in ap & radar, but lose out in artillery spotting. On the other hand, Nelson touch's total damage is lower but one of the hit will have the highest modifier. It also allows you more flexibility to bring Ise k2 without losing either Musashi or Iowa, which is very useful when slot is tight with 6 surface radar requirement.

Overall, I prefer Nelson touch here.

    For reference:

Nagato touch (both Nagato k2 and Mutsu k2 equipped with radar & ap shell) (3 less artillery spotting chance): x2.6 x2.6 x2.6

Nagato touch (Nagato k2 with radar+ap shell, Mutsu k2 with recon+ap) (one less artillery spotting chance): x2.6, x2.6, x2.26

Nelson touch (Nelson, Iowa, Musashi): x2, x2.76, x2

Thanks for the heads up, I haven't checked the requirements yet.

I think I'll have to experiment with it myself, see what works out best for me.

    E5 Guide

    Bonus:

    Node Q:

    Samuel B. Roberts - 1.3x
Iowa, Johnston, Saratoga, Intrepid, Akagi - 1.25x
    Kaga - 1.2x
Kirishima, Hiei, Shoukaku, Abukuma, Kasumi, Kagerou, Shiranui, Isokaze, Hamakaze, Tanikaze - 1.1x

    Node Z:

    Samuel B. Roberts, Johnston - 1.7~1.79x
Urakaze, Hamakaze, Tanikaze, Kasumi, Arare, Isokaze, Kagerou, Shiranui - 1.43x
    Iowa, Colorado - 1.38x
    Saratoga, Intrepid - 1.35x
    Abukuma - 1.32x
    Kaga, Akagi - 1.3x
    Other DDs- 1.3x(?)
    Other CL(T)s - 1.2x
Kirishima, Hiei,Tone, Chikuma, Shoukaku, Zuikaku, Souryuu, Hiryuu - 1.155x
    Other (F)BB(V)/CA(V)/CV(L/B) - 1.05x

    (From wikia)

    P1:

Fleet: Basically just use the same fleet as P2 but with 500 fighter power and no radar requirement.

LBAS: 1 fighter 3 bomber for 2 bases to the boss. 4 toukai for the 3rd base to node B.

    Route unlock:

    Requirements:
    AS at node E, G and F
    S rank at node X
    B rank at node V
    AS at base defense

Step 1 (AS at node E): Sortie the same STF you used in P1. Send Touaki base to node B and two bases with full fighter to node E.

Step 2 (AS at node F): Sortie a CTF with 3CV and no BB, with fighter sweep to node F. Bring some LBAS or send some toukai to node C for passing rate.

Step 3 (AS at node G, S rank at node X): Same fleet as step 2, but replace a ship in escort with AV/AO. Have 6 of your ships equip surface radar. Make sure you get AS at node G with your fleet alone (630+). Send your toukai base to node C and the remaining bases to node X (range=8).

Step 4 (B rank at node V): Probably the hardest part for unlock. You need a TCF with very low LOS. Recommend 2BBV 4DD+1CL 2CA 3DD with node support. Send your toukai base to node C and the remaining bases to node V. FCF is recommended as well.

Step 5 (AS for base defense): Just send a fleet out again with 3 bases full of fighter in defense mode till you get air raid trigger.

    P2:

    Clearing fleet:
    [+] Spoiler

    Route: D>E>J3>N>S>T>X>Z
    old fleet:
    [+] Spoiler
    Recommended Fleet (Nelson touch)

Recommended Fleet (Nagato touch), Escort fleet is the same

    Revised recommended fleet:

Fighter power: 380+ for AS at node X and AS+ at boss. Could vary depends on what airstate you get with our LBAS and whether you want AS at node X.

    LBAS:
    Base 1: fighter+bomber x3
    Base 2: bomber x4
    Base 3: bomber x3+toukai

Aim for AP/AP/AD/AD/AD/AD. You can go for an even radical comp with 4 bomber in base 1, getting AD for all 6 waves, but you need very good LBAS bomber to pull that off.

    Note:
    • Ignore the luck of the ships in the screenshot and assume all the TCI ships except Johnston and Sam are luckmodded.
    • In terms of DD choice, priority will be:
Johnston>Sam with 3 torp>Sam with 2 torp=Kasumi with 2 torp>Ayanami with 2 torp. Calculate your best option according to you luckmod situation and the bonus.
    • In terms of the BB mule, the best choice will be Bismarck as she can chip with closing torp and doesn't intervene any friend fleet.
    • I pick Iowa here for her better day damage. The choice is between her and Musashi, with Iowa providing more damage, and Musashi providing an extra good friend fleet and a radar slot.
    • Another option will be to replace the 3rd DD with another CLT. CLT's DA will do around 350 x2 damage comparing to Ayanami (390 x2) and Kasumi (410 x2), but will be more stable and provide another opening torp. You have one less utility slot for night battle equipment or radar though, in this case you might want to choose Nagato build and put another radar on Mutsu replacing recon.
    • The yellow gun on Nagato is for maximizing touch damage in parallel or better engagement by changing the AP shell modifier from 1.10 to 1.15. You cap anyway in parallel or better engagement.
    • Using a Zuiun with high shotdown reduction on Ise will give you some valuable fighter power.
    • Use of goddess for your escort fleet is recommended for LD due to the low passing rate at node X against double RE. Don't advance with more than one taiha, as you won't have a chance at boss with a battered fleet anyway. It is hard to actually consume a goddess so don't worry about that.
    • Opt to use Toukai in Lbas to kill the flagship sub in boss node. You can put one sonor on Johnston in chipping to make sure it is dead.

@211303 Thanks so much for the E5 report/guide. Just completed E5p1 and the unlock part really makes my eyes water. I'm glad to have your writeup for convenient reference.

Can you recommend a fleet setup for the TCF unlock to Node V? As in, equipments as well as the characters. I'm wondering just how low is 'low LoS'. At the same time nerfing the fleet too much by removing good equipments makes passing insanely tough.

On that note, after looking at the list I suggest the following order of completing the locks to account for less LBAS changes. There are more equipment changes, but at least that's free.

    (after clearing E5P1)

    1. B rank at Node V (setup TCF, use same LBAS as clearing)
    2. S rank at Node X and AS at Node G (setup CTF, same LBAS as clearing but replace 1 bomber in bomber bases for T2 Recon to get 8 range, assuming 7 range fighter)
    3. AS at Node F (set bases to all fighters, 4 range)
    4. AS at Node E (setup STF. Set escort for OASW)
    5. AS base defence (set bases to defence)

(P.S. you wrote S instead of X for Step 3)

None that I can see for hard mode. Main problem is that your escort will be even more battered against the double re node.
