    [Summer 2019 E1] European Counterattack Operation! Commence





    This post will be updated with confirmed information pertaining to map E-1 as it is spaded. The thread can also serve as a starting point for people to discuss the map if they want.

    Disclaimer: Information in this thread is subjected to change when new or additional data is made available.








    General Event Outline, Participation Requirements and Difficulty System



    To participate in this event, you must have a sortie win rate of 75% or above. You also need at least 5 spare Kanmusu slots and 20 equipment slots. Completely depleting the health bar and therefore clearing the map will lock it in the chosen difficulty, it cannot be changed afterwards.









    Please be aware that it is not possible to increase the difficulty between maps by more than one. As an example if you have cleared E-1 on "Easy" you will not be able to select "Hard" for E-2; only "Medium" will be available. However players will be able to choose "Hard" again for E-3 if you pick "Medium" on E-2 for this specific scenario. This does not affect the ability to decrease difficulty; players will still be able to choose "Easy" after clearing the previous map on "Hard".

    E1 preliminary guide:



    Unlock requirements: S rank for A, D, K and L

    Node A, D, K: 1CL5DD (A and D are ASW node, only A rank is needed)
    Node L: 1CL4DD1BB or CA


    Clearing


    Route: CEHLN

    Fleet: 1BB 2CVL 2DD 1SSV

    LBAS: 4 bombers to boss

    Example:
    Shouhou: TB/DB/TB/Fighter
    Hiyou: TB/DB/TB/Fighter
    SSV: spf/spf
    DD: gun/gun/surface radar
    DD: gun/gun/surface radar
    Richelieu: gun/gun/ap/night scout



    Note: All target in boss node will attack the sub at day, thus sub tank is picked for protecting your damage dealer. You will want one of Richelieu/CLT/capped TCI DD to deal with the boss's high armor. Richelieu is preferred due to her very high damage modifier, but it is unknown whether she is needed later yet. As long as you have 2 DD and 2 ships equipped with surface radar in this fleet, it should take the same route.

    Edit: also try to avoid AACI while using sub tank. French hime won't attack sub without plane.

    @211303 Any recommendations on DDs and CL?
    I am ready to commit Junyou and Ryuujou to this map, why the hell not, and let SSV be I13 SPF mule and FBB is obviously a Riche.
    Now I need to decide what CL and DDs to spend here. CL doesn't really matter I guess, so Naka will do.
    What about the DDs? I am thinking about locking two good DDs here, for example Shimakaze and Ayanami for Boss runs.
    And I guess absolutely anything will do for unlocking/debuff runs, like Harusame/Kiyoshimo/Murakumo, all lvl95+.

    Looks fine?

    @allaire Just any DD and CL will be fine if you are using Richie. Just use some random stuff.

    E1H done!

    Pretty easy map overall, as expected.

    Here's the unlocking fleet:



    Used the torpedo squadron for reaching A, D & K. Swapped a destroyer for a heavy cruiser for routing to L. Also used LBAS (4 bombers) to make things even easier. Swapped OASW for combat loadout for nodes K & L. Used the spoon / dong formation on all the pre-final nodes. No supports used.

    And here's the boss fleet:



    Routes C-E-H-L-N.

    Swapped LBAS to 3 bombers + 1 fighter to get at least AP on both boss comps. Having ~180 air power was enough to secure AS after the LBAS sweep even on last dance. I used the subtank strategy and deliberately didn't bring any AACI to avoid emptying the hime's planes. Obviously, better CVLs and DDs could be used, but I'm not going to risk locking the likes of Yuudachi or Ayanami here. Took me 10 runs to clear the map (4 unlocks, 1 boss A-rank, 5 boss S-rank). No support expeditions used for chipping or last dance. Supports really aren't needed, as Richelieu's damage bonus is massive. Hell, I even scored a daytime S-rank on one of my attempts.

    Now to farm for my first (and hopefully, a second) Yuu, as well as the new kaiboukan, before the EO comes out

    EDIT: Here's some advice for tinkering with the above comp for farming this map post-clear:

    • Replace the night scout with a better recon plane. You don't really need night contact, and having a better recon plane means more reliable trigger rate for APCI and double attack.
    • Use a 3-slot submarine if you can. Equip her with 2 SPF and a submarine radar. The sub radar adds a lot of evasion, which helps with preboss, and counts as a surface radar for routing purposes!
    • Replace the surface radar on Hatsushimo with a third torpedo and put her as flagship. In case the hime isn't taiha'd during day battle, you'll want to have the first shot at night, so the hime can't randomly snipe Riche. Also, flagship position = higher TCI chance.
    • Replace a fighter with a Saiun. The two SPF on the sub will make up for the air power, and having Saiun prevents Red T. This helps both with the boss (obviously), and equally importantly with the preboss. If you get red-t'd en-route and you opening salvo fails to kill enough enemies, your sub will likely get taiha'd.


    That's basically my current farming fleet. I'm sitting at 14 S-ranks and 3 A-ranks (2 of those were with my original clearing fleet), and have nabbed a dupe Richelieu and my first Yuu so far. Will aim for a second Yuu and Mikura before I'm done with this map.
