[Summer 2019 E2] European Counterattack Operation! Commence

This post will be updated with confirmed information pertaining to map E-2 as it is spaded. The thread can also serve as a starting point for people to discuss the map if they want.

Disclaimer: Information in this thread is subjected to change when new or additional data is made available.

General Event Outline, Participation Requirements and Difficulty System

To participate in this event, you must have a sortie win rate of 75% or above. You also need at least 5 spare Kanmusu slots and 20 equipment slots. Completely depleting the health bar and therefore clearing the map will lock it in the chosen difficulty, it cannot be changed afterwards.

Please be aware that it is not possible to increase the difficulty between maps by more than one. As an example if you have cleared E-1 on "Easy" you will not be able to select "Hard" for E-2; only "Medium" will be available. However players will be able to choose "Hard" again for E-3 if you pick "Medium" on E-2 for this specific scenario. This does not affect the ability to decrease difficulty; players will still be able to choose "Easy" after clearing the previous map on "Hard".

    General E-2 Map Information

    Difficulty: ☆x13

    Sortie Mode: Combined fleet

    E2 H clear!

P1 is very easy with enough anti-installation equipment, but P2 is rather hard overall cos I can't use Nagamutsu and more Euro for fear that they would be useful in E3. If you don't have Nagamutsu and Euro dupes, best wait till E3 is released.

    E2 guide

    E2p1:

    Fleet: TCF with 1CAV 1CVE 4DD+1CL 3DD 2CA

    Route: BACEMN

    Sample:
    [+] Spoiler

LBAS: 4 bombers for both bases and send everything to boss.

Note: Basically just an equipment check. A standard TCF will get you this shortest route. As a general rule, let your DD in main fleet have one punch/AACI build/anti pt imp build, while your escort DD have 2 gun and marine daihaitsu/11th regiment/kami tank. There is a sub node preboss, so you can take OASW for passing rate. Damage at boss node is really overkilled in the above sample comp, and you could afford to keep FCF and dedicate more ship to OASW/pt imp if you want. Support isn't needed for this part at all.

    E2p2:

    Route: OPTV

    Sample:
    [+] Spoiler

Fighter power: around 270 assuming 2 AD and 2 AP LBAS at boss. Give ark royal another fighter or the CL another SPF if you are lacking a bit

    LBAS:
    3 bomber+54 squadron to boss
    3 mod 34 bomber+64 squadron to boss

    Note:
I prefer the lightest build with three Euro BB and CV to ensure passing rate at node T. Try to give Ark Royal 3 bombers for maximum crit rate. The escort fleet should consist of the best TCI and anti-surface ship (Kiso is only here cos this is supposed to be an non-dupe guide and she can at least clear trash). If you have dupe KTKM/Ooi and Pudding, switch them in replacing Kiso and Myoukou. Garibaldi could be an option at flagship too, and you can either train Abruzzi or use other 4 slot CL in E3 for similar effect, with non Euro 4 slot CL performing slightly worse in protecting your escort fleet. Due to the high armor, it's basically just fishing for crit with multiple capped attack. Luckily, rest of the enemy is weak and it should be easy to get 6v2 at night.

For LD, I personally just stick with the same fleet and got a clear in two tries. Another option would be to use 4BB1CV fleet with Nagamutsu broadside and an oiler.

Edit: If you are really struggling, consider using Jervis here. Apparently Johnston and Fletcher have x1.45 bonus as well, so they could be a weaker but serviceable alternative for E3 TCI.

@211303 I read on Reddit that the High Altitude bombers derank your LBAS when they raid you, do you happen to have more info on this?

    @211303

Thanks for the reports. All the branching looks to be straightforward this time compared to previous.
    time to brainlessly plagiarise everything

I know you discussed the ASW mortar in a previous thread, but any word on how the new Japanese rocket's bonuses synergises with WG42? What would be the better choice for a single rocket and is 2 WG or WG+new rocket stronger for 2 rockets.

EDIT: Also, that quest that rewards a ASW mortar or new rocket. Enough info to make a decision which is better yet?

    @NanashiYoukai

This is a graph for the wg x2, wg+t4 and T4 x2 against soft installation. Basically, in terms of soft installation, T4 x2 is the superior choice, while wg x2 is only stronger than wg+t4 when base firepower is over 103.

As for the quest, I might still recommend waiting for E3 at this point, but I am leaning on T4. The mortar conc's main use is for anti-installation+oasw build or for ships that cannot equip any anti-installation equipment like CLT. Pretty niche/utiltiy builds in general, and it requires a substantial cost of upgrading base mortar to mortar dc and rings/asw modding. You could still make one mortar conc with those from the rest of the quest and event while picking T4 for that particular quest.

A modifier list for anti-installation equipment. It doesn't include the event installation like summer seaport though.

@Danielosama Apparently against those silver takoyaki, all non rocket powered interceptors only have half the original fighter power. Test is still ongoing concerning the shootdown rate.

I won't be too worried about it though. Haven't defended my base at all in this event and I didn't notice my base took any more damage than normal. Doesn't notice any thing strange about the LBAS rank either. YOLO works fine so far in E1-2.

Are Hayasui barrels any good in this map (part 2)?
Kind of been waiting to "get rid" of these barrels for years. :/

Besides sparkling I don't suppose there's any way to improve fleet accuracy is there? My tank carriers keep missing and it's really frustrating when you arrive all green but still only manage to sink a PT Imp and a arty imp in exchange for 5 taihas and 7 chuuhas.

@Kuropo It's good if you go with 4BB 1cv in p2. Don't think you actually need that though.

    - - - Updated - - -
@Stormkeeper Care to show your build? Apart from pt imp, those enemy doesn't have particularly high evasion, and I suspect those aren't actually miss, but non-pen.

I'm not sure what else I could change, tbh. I'm out of WGs and Type 4 Rockets, although I do have more sanshikis.
