    @silentcap My viewer (KCV) tells me exactly how much HP is left on the Boss bar, so that's how I knew I was in LD. Once you do the debuff, you'll have to get to the Boss to know if you've done everything correctly or not.

    Using 4 toukai to sub, 2x scout/3bombers to Boss, both supports... sometimes touch S, sometimes Boss, where boss usually doesn't seem to matter (provided get past S)


    Best part is full healthy fleets at boss just bouncing hard =D

    I think I'm just venting here because I've tried @211303's suggested fleet for V clearing (with Kirishima and Ise and 2 FBB in escort) until I ran out of node sparkles, then just changed back to light fleet because people said it worked and of course got no where as well.

    It's hard because I literally have no idea what I can do better except hope I get lucky with the easier comp appearing AND being able to finish escorts, which is just putting me at that level of frustration with the game that seems to happen every other event.

    I guess I'm going to keep trying, because I've clearly fallen into the "definition of insanity" part of playing the game where you keep doing the exact same thing hoping for a better outcome, but I'm really starting to wonder what I'm doing with my time now. lol

    Nothing I can see that is fundamentally wrong other than not to use double fit on Kongou class.

    Might want to consider dumping poi for ooi in order to get better passing rate.

    Edit: oh, wait, is that supposed to be LD?

    If so, go with searchlight and goddess on CL, and poi with tci+look out at flag for tci. Ayanami can carry starshell.

    EVENT (almost, back to E3 to rescue ruyter+fletcher) DONE, all HARD as usual. All in all, easier than I expected. I started when the countdown timer on wikia popped up, and waited until most of the FFs were made available.

    @firehawk12 : FWIW, for Node V (took me 8 sortie while I was tweaking some things), I used Fast CTF of Main = Hiei, Kirishima, Intrepid, Zuikaku, Suzuya Zuikhou K2b; Escort = Ayanami (NB TCI + star shell), Abukuma (OASW + ko-kyoteki), Yuudachi (NB DA), Kongou K2c, Kumano & Kitakami.

    Reason I ended up ditching Nelson was Hiei is fast FBB (so can have art spotting & AP shell) + has some historic bonuses. More consistent IMO for this. Don't have fleet comp pic or details, but Intrepid & Zuikaku had TB+DB+2x fighters for CVCI. Zuihou had TB + 3x fighters. Had one SPF on Suzuya. Ended up with over 500 airpower. Another change I made was going 2x LBAS fighter (Hayabusa 64th + Hayabusa III (+10) + 2x LBAS bombers (M34) on Group 2. Wasn't getting enough LBAS airpower at Node V. For Group 3, did stick with LBAS Recon + Shiden 343 + 2x Ginga. Group 1 was 4x Toukai to help out with sub Node F. Obviously use node shelling support as well.

    When I got my S-rank (in day) at Node V, thanks to LBAS, fleet was able to get AS which helps. Not sure if there's a magic bullet for this, but maybe my comp will do the trick for you. GL

    @Ferreae: Meh, I'm on LD and running fairly similar. That doesn't bode well. Definitely an RNG map here - need to not only pass to boss node, but also have key ships in good shape. I'm starting to wonder whether I need to add a repair crane to Akitsushima. Still, repair at Node X then maybe get damaged again at Node S. :<.

    Still using Nelson Touch at Node S because (A) not 100% trigger and if it doesn't then you're stuck with meh formation damage and (b) Node S is a bit of a gate keeper and/or even if I do pass, then which critical damage dealer in my escort is hit to chuuha and RIP potential at boss (even with boss debuff).

    Problem with boss node is that vast majority of the time, I'm left with boss + both BB Water Oni + both Ne-CA. Even if some at taiha (never boss), it's still a target. FFLeet definitely helps for chipping runs, but it's not clearing out boss escorts. So I need NB TCI to trigger AND select boss AND not be at chuuha AND still get a good dice roll for damage. That's a lot of "ands".

    W/o luck mod, really not up for Poi NB TCI, but I may have to try Nelson Touch at boss node. Not that many sorties into LD, but yeesh is it not looking good so far. Pass rate so far is better than expect (so I'm sure I'll get a string of retreats now [EDIT - yep! bunch o retreats]), but just not close to killing boss. Too many damaged escort fleet ships by the time I get to NB for one thing. Node B just won't leave my escort fleet alone (esp. Ayanami).

    @211303: I've got a repair goddess on Yahagi (using her as CL since already has RE) along with searchlight (max). Not the large searchlight, but OTOH, she's tanking well enough. My Yuudachi isn't luck modded so that's quite the RNG risk to go to 2x torps + star shell (might as well go with 2 for extra trigger chance). Yuudachi w/ NB DA has had a decent hit (over 200), but yeah, not getting the massive 500, 600 or whatever w/ Poi NB TCI. Not good if Yuudachi NB TCI is fairly key to passing this map.

    Right now, other than bash head against RNG, all I can think of is using repair mats (add 1-2 cranes to Akitsushima) and/or just pray I get pass Node S in decent shape to use Nelson Touch at Boss node.

    Caught a really lucky Chinese stream. A kill despite red T and full hp boss with 4 escorts after FF, 4/5 targeted the boss and those that can TCI proc'ed.

    Currently at final phase of this map, but having trouble to pass pre-boss nodes, especially node S, without any support other than normal node support expedition. :/

    16 attempts so far, but only 1 boss encounter. :/
    Though, not that far off my pre-final attempts...

    Is this the usual for other players as well?

    @Kuropo: Are you using Nelson Touch at Node S? I'm using it so far so not having too much of an issue at Node S in terms of passing rate (sometimes, but less often than not). However, some key ship get hit to chuuha :/ Not sure if I'm having above average luck getting to boss (at Boss, not so much) or if you're just having bad luck, but passing rate with usual comp used here seems to be around 50%. Maybe a bit less, but seems like you're having more trouble than most. :/ You're a veteran player so doubt it's comp/load-out, but maybe?

    If you're not using Nelson Touch (saving it for Boss node), then that changes things IMO. It's what I'm struggling with TBH. I'm getting killed at the boss node with LD (well, more so than chipping). So... really don't know here. Went 4x LBAS bombers for LBAS Group 2 to maybe sink more in boss escort so my main fleet might do something to boss main before getting killed. Nelson Touch? IF I get past Node S & no damage to key ships, IF it triggers, IF it targets Ne-CA (might sink those), IF it does enough damage so I can not have boss in NB with 4x meat shields every single time.

    I guess if I had a luck-modded Yuudachi, then can just put here as flag with a decent trigger chance and hope she does 600+ damage to boss or something. Maybe do that with Ayanami. Go 3x torps as flag and hope NB TCI triggers and huge NB DA hit on boss. Just... don't know here. Really dn't want to spend 500, 700+ buckets and 100k or more resources to clear one map.
