    so after a full night plagued by touch failing to trigger and red T at boss, I finally cleared with the luckiest snipe I have experienced in my career......

    Definitely not recommend to attempt this map before FF.

    Don't make the snipe discourage you from trying hard mode though. FF will definitely improve your chance by a lot, and given touch's actual triggering rate, it failing to trigger shouldn't be that common (in theory anyway). I have also locked key ships like Fletcher and Kinugasa. There is the bad passing rate but it's not worse than the double RE in Spring. You can always use goddess for ships that are prone to taiha as well.

    Grats on the clear, appreciate your guides as always.

    Would 4 TCI DD plus 1 TCI CA( low luck ) plus ABKM be decent for E-6 LD, or might suzukuma DA setup with 3 TCI DD and ABKM would be better?
    I've locked kinugasa, sendai and ata-kao in previous maps so my historical CA/CLs are limited - at least the ones with the higher bonus deeps.

    @Makikaki Not even having pudding? You need someone to carry your night scout so one CA type is a must. Bonus of CA other than Kinugasa is not significant anyway, so you are better off using any random high luck TCI CA.

    Something like 4 bonus TCI DD, 1 TCI CA and ABKM would be good for you. Perhaps replace a TCI DD with a oasw CLT for passing rate.

    E6 Preliminary guide:

    P1 (TP phrase)

    Fleet (STF):

    Nelson: gun/gun/recon/boiler/(turbine)
    Arashio: dahaitsu x3
    Kirishima: gun/gun/recon/ap shell
    Michishio: dahaitsu x3
    Suzuya: gun/gun/recon/spf
    Niishin: daihaitsu x4


    ABKM: torp/torp/midget sub
    Kinugasa: gun/gun/night recon/radar
    KTKM: gun/gun/midget sub
    Tashkent: sonar/DC/DCP/star shell
    Fletcher: sonar/DC/DCP

    Route:
    ABDIKNOP

    Formation:

    Note:
    Picking STF here due to the better passing rate, even though it transports less resources per run. Fleet requirement is a fast STF with 2 BB and 5 DD. Speed hack Nelson is used here to improve passing rate at node N with touch. The most dangerous preboss node here would be the nb node, so it is highly recommended to use node support. Remember to place your DA ships up front as well.

    In terms of LBAS, I opt to go for a LBAS recon in each base for better damage per hit rather than extra number of hits, given that the targets are all fairly tough.

    Unlocking route to boss node:

    To unlock the route to the node W, you need to fulfill the following requirements:

    S rank for node P and node N
    AS for node E, H, M
    A ranks for node V twice
    AS for base defense twice

    Step 1: Node P and node N S rank
    Since STF will no longer reach node P, we will be using a single fleet with Nelson+Suzuya+Kirishima+ABKM+Yuudachi+Ayanami instead (no speed hack is needed). Both support are recommended here. LBAS and touch arrangement is the same for the TP phrase.


    Step 2: AS for Node E and node H

    Sortie a slow CTF with 4CV and not more than 2 DD. Retreat at node H. Bring ample OASW and opening torp to avoid retreat. FCF could be a good idea too.

    Step 3: Node V A rank twice
    Sortie a fast CTF with Nelson+1FBB+2CV+1CVL+1CAV and 1CL 1CLT 2CA 2DD. Use touch at node V. For LBAS, send base with toukai to node F and two bases with 1 recon 1 fighter 2 bomber to node V.

    Step 4: AS for node M
    Sortie a full fleet of SSV with as many spf as you can. Send all bases with fighter to node M. Range is 5 so try to use some of the interceptor you will use in next slot to save some resources.

    Step 5: AS for base defense twice
    Switch all bases to defense with enough interceptor (including rocket interceptor), and sortie a single sub till air raid happens.

    Edit: Since FF has arrived, it is better to swap beaver for poi instead.

    Route:

    Note:
    In terms of main fleet, it should be fairly standard for the most part, with Nelson carrying VL gun for touch priority, the 2 bonus FBB, 2 bonus CAV and either Kamo or Akashi for routing. Kamo is recommended since her dodge rate is way higher and she forces D>I unless you have 4 BB. You can consider bringing zuiun/helicopter on the CAV to more chipping damage to ensure the sub hime's closing torp would be shut down, but beware your zuiun could be wiped at boss node.

    Escort fleet is where you will see more variance. Please refer to the expected attack power of some common pick below (assume night scout trigger) :

    Shigure (quad late model max x2, quint +9): 451 x2
    Yuudachi (b gun +9, c gun +9, gfcs mk37): 398 x2
    Fletcher (quint +9 x3): 397 x2

    CA:
    Kinugasa (no 2 +9 x2, Fumo): 384 x2
    Pudding (representing all other non historical capped CA) (quint +9 x2, no 3 +9): 378 x2

    CL:
    ABKM: (quint +9 x2, midget sub type c +4): 376 x2
    Nagara (no 3 +9, oto max x2): 352 x2

    CLT:
    KTKM (no 3 +9 x2, midget sub type c +4): 366 x2


    So in short, damage wise, unless you luckmodded your historical CA, no CA other than Kinugasa is comparable to the available historical TCI DD and DA Yuudachi. Since you need a ship to carry night scout, and a CL is required for CF, 1CL+1CA+4DD or 1CL+1CA+3DD+1CLT are likely the preferred choice if we ignore luckmod other than ABKM. If you haven't luckmod ABKM as well, consider either insert Nagara or use a 4 slot OASW CL for both ASW and night scout, so your Kinugasa can go with the 1 red 2 yellow Fumo build instead. CLT is also a possible choice for sacrificing some night damage for better passing rate and protection of escort fleet.

    To ensure passing rate, it is recommended to use touch at node S. You probably would want to give a goddess to Akitsushima, and only advance if you taiha at node X. As for the repair node, it's up to you whether you would want to spend repair mat even in chipping, but keep in mind it cannot repair taiha ship, nor can it repair when Akitsushima is chuha. Also remember not to use a searchlight here for passing rate at nb node, unless you are willing to give the ship goddess as well. Consider increase the number of oasw if sub loli is causing you problem.

    Boss debuff:

    Once you reach LD, complete the following requirements to debuff the boss:

    S rank for node S, node Q and node V
    AS at node M
    AS for base defense twice

    Step 1: S rank for node S
    Same fleet for chipping. Sortie till node S and use touch there.

    Step 2: S rank for node V
    A fairly difficult requirement given that it is basically the pre LD form of E5 p2. You will likely have the same problem in E5 where some tough escort manage to survive the day battle. Sortie a fast CTF with Nelson+CV+Kirishima+CV+CAV+CVL and 1CL 2CA 2DD 1CLT. Node support is mandatory here. Key for S rank lies on improving your opening strike, hence I chose to adjust the main fleet and LBAS to only get AS and AD respectively against the weaker comp here, but not the stronger comp, leaving more slot for bombers. LBAS wise, skilled recon+64 squadron+mod 34+mod 34 for first base and recon+shiden 343 squadron+nonaka+nonaka should be barely enough to get 4 AD against the weaker comp. 3rd base is for the sub loli as always. Remember to fully rank both your carrier and lbas bomber, and F5 in failed runs to save the rank.

    Edit: at retrospect it's probably better to move Kirishima to escort. You don't need a really strong main fleet or touch here.

    Edit 2: another alternative comp is to use 2BB+3CV+1CAV 2BB+2DD+1CLT+1CL for maximum escort firepower. Route would be CFGHJLQRV in this case. Ammo will still be full when you reach V, so basically trading passing rate for firepower.

    Step 2: S rank for node Q
    Same fleet as Step 2, but only change one CVL to a CV. This node is way easier so you can afford to use more oasw for passing rate.

    Step 3: AS at node M
    Same as route unlock.

    Step 4: AS for base defense twice
    Same as route unlock.

    Note:
    The only thing that would really change for LD is your escort fleet and to use touch at boss instead. Here are two examples of escort you could use. First one sacrifice oasw (and thus passing rate at that node) for an extra TCI. Slot is quite lacking with both ABKM and CLT, lack of DD capping with 2 torp as well as the 3 radar requirement, so I didn't include a searchlight. You can get an empty slot if you insert TCI Yuudachi instead. Even if yours is not modded, 20 luck is not a terrible bet at flagship given the massive damage advantage. In this case, Kinugasa should be carrying the searchlight. I am keeping both CLT and ABKM here for their opening torp, in order to improve day battle result at boss node and passing rate at node S. In both cases opening torps are effective in removing mobs so your BB will aim at the important targets.

    The 2nd comp will suit people without a luckmod ABKM. Large searchlight will protect the other damage dealer, while her oasw should shutdown sub loli's closing torp. However, the searchlight also means your passing rate at nb node would decrease, so it is best to equip her with a goddess.

    Wouldn't Ayanami be able to be near Yuudachi's DA night damage since both seem to have the same damage bonus?
