    @Kahlev: Yes, RNG has always been a part of KanColle. The problem is when devs get out of control with super RNG maps. IMO, that's bad game play and not fun at all. Bashing my head against RNG is not fun. Just a waste of my time and all the time I spent in preparation. I remember back in Spring 2016 when they had the bomber RNG to pass E-6 (IIRC) and at least one if not 2 people here quit the game over too much RNG.

    Edited my post above w/ example at boss if it's worth anything, but finally got to the boss node in surprisingly good shape and then the usual mauling and no hope unless magic Ayanami NB TCI. Got NB TCI, but targeted wrong one of 5 targets still around.

    I've got 1-2 more sparkles on support before I quit for the day. I'm not sure what I can change at this point since already gone to Lg. searchlight with Gotland. It's the same thing as many others (pretty much standard comp/load out for this) are using to clear so don't see any reason to change up too much. Add OTO to Akitsumaru and lose "auto sparkle" for more evasion post Node B (if I get by Node B), less evasion on low evasion ship w/o HP boiler, etc. There's nothing I can tell that gives me an upside without a material downside. Damned if I do, and damned if I don't.

    Of course still have NY quest to do and would like the M34 Bomber +4. Who knows how long those will last. Be nice if devs tweeted "NY quests will last until end of month (or something)" so player would know for sure.

    -----
    @Kuropo: Understand, but I have terrible luck so far (so very far) with LSC Maruyu which is not helping with my attempts to catch up to luck modding. Also, I'm not some one who can easily do LSC and still gather tons of resources per day. Wiping out my resources (incl. buckets) means I probably won't even try to rank T500 let alone try a lot of LSC for Maruyu. Worst of all is at some point will have to drop down to Medium to just clear this godforsaken event. I'll keep trying for now, but people keep clearing on Hard so not sure why I'm having so much damn trouble just getting to the boss node let alone by now getting stars to align.

    Anyway, do appreciate the help & such.

    PS - and yes, "perfect runs" to Boss node don't really mean much.

    @Kuropo Yeah, the condition when you reach the boss is no guarantee. During chipping I had runs that showed up healthy do nothing, and at least one that just barely limped into the boss node, but managed to sink her.

    In the end, I know two things. RNG gonna RNG, and bitching here works (for me anyway).

    Ayanami, all is forgiven. E6H Clear!

    Next run was looking very similar, right up to NB. Parallel engagement, FF didn't suck as hard this time around, Gotland tanked like a champ, and after Kinugasa, Kitakami and Yuudachi all took out the trash, Ayanami picked the correct of the two remaining targets, and TCI'd for 600+ damage.

    I'll post fleets, but my pass rate to the boss for LD was good - I sank the boss 3 times chipping; I figured adding Boss support and the debuff should help offset the LD armor-bump, and optimized for passing. Went formation 1 at B, 2 at S and 4 at D and W, with Line Ahead at K. I started with all 4 fleets sparkled, but let the main fleet lapse. A fully sparkled escort seemed to skate through B and K without too much issue, and using Nelson Touch at S helped passing there. Had a damecon on Akitsushima and never used it, had a damegami on Gotland and burned one. That could have just been a damecon - the large SL proc'd even with Gotland taiha.

    E6H took more resources than the rest of the event combined. Total consumables usage this event was 1 Damegami, 2 emergency repair materials, and 5 REs on Nagato, Mutsu, Nelson, Gotland and Akitsushima. (i figure fBB branching isn't going away, and hole-punching Akitsushima and Gotland are an investment for future branching rules)

    I finished E-7 while I was waiting for E6 FFs, so that's a wrap. GL to everyone still working on clearing E6; It's completely possible, just really, really RNG dependent.

    @Etrigan Congratulations on clearing the event! Sometimes complaining here seems to work indeed! (Coincidence? :d)

    Only Part 2 of E-6 took me more resources than all of the event prior to clear.. Started out the event with 294k fuel, cleared E-6-1 with 204k fuel left, so 90k consumed.
    On the other hand, I cleared E-6-2 with only 69k left, so that makes it 135k fuel for E-6-2 alone.
    (Didn't subtract gain from expeditions though, but shouldn't make much difference. If anything, it would make E-6-2 more expensive due to how long it took me to clear.)

    @Kuropo Thanks, and Yikes. Total fuel to clear was 72k, with 45k of that E6 and 33k of THAT Part 2. But yeah, just Part 2 took more of everything except bauxite than 1-5 combined.

    @Kuropo

    Thanks. That 54th squadron is a go then.
    @Etrigan

    You only used that much in total? I somehow feel that I'm doing something wrong or RNG just hates my guts. I can't seem to clear any last map of any event after getting my 5th Hard Medal for the inane reasons.

    E6H LD Fleets:
    [+] Spoiler

    Main Fleet

    Pretty standard here - Akitsushima set up for repairs at X. I'd kept a taitei on her during chipping to maintain sparkles from getting MVP at the sub node, but just commited to manually sparkling for LD runs. As it turns out, wasn't necessary. Had a damecon on her, but never used it.

    Escort Fleet

    I had a little more variation here. I do have a luck modded Abukuma, in addition to Yuudachi and Ayanami, but I decided having the NB tank was more important. Kept Fletcher over Shigure for the extra hit at B, she wasn't going to be able to snipe the boss, but she could help with the trash. Went with TCI on Yuudachi over DA since she is luck-modded, and that allowed another star shell. Even with two, it didn't always proc.

    That gave two strong DAs, and two strong and one middling TCI. In the end it took all 5 to get the job done, and that was still an A rank.

    Formations again were 1-4-Line Ahead-2-4 for B-D-K-S-W.

    Luck double spoiler to avoid salt
    [+] Spoiler
    LD took 4 runs, and my LD pass rate was 100%. Don't ask me how. Fully sparkled escort and the ability to shut down the closing torp meant I got through B with just one chuuha at most, D was not an issue, had two runs with one chuuha and one run with a taiha (with Damegami) at K that I was able to continue with. Used repair mats at X if 2 or more were chuuha (2 runs), and using Nelson Touch at S got me through with a couple chuuha at most. LD results were 2 C-Ranks and 2 A-ranks, including the final kill.

    Final Run replay:

    @silentcap Just in fuel, but yeah. That doesn't count farming - adding that and my total is more like 120k. I got lucky on E6 - Chipping went well, I got the S rank on V for the debuff on my first run, and LD wasn't anywhere near as bad as it could have been. Just as an example, @Kuropo has better equips than me, and it took him significantly more - it's really all down to RNG.

    Just to confirm, is the T0 Mod52 Iwai a good pick to use in the LBAS for node V? I slotted it in the same LBAS as the 54th squadron (the interceptor). It doesn't seem to be in the excel sheet you posted @Kuropo.

    Edit: @Etrigan

    Can you also post the fleet you used to S-Rank node V? I'm stuck at there for a few days already.

    @silentcap Sure thing. Went with the super-heavy 3CV comp, through Q.

    [+] Spoiler

    Main Fleet

    Used The cranes here for the damage bonus on V, and left them setup for a CVCI. Akagi to (mostly) fighter mule. No Touch.

    Escort Fleet

    Threw Isokaze in for A) damage bonus, and B) AACI. Helped a little? BBs worked better as damage sponges than damage dealers. Abukuma was the star.

    LBAS 1 and 2 were 1 Land-based recon, 1 fighter (H 64th and 54th), and two bombers.

    The big issue always seems to be clearing the escort fleet. In my case, LBAS didn't do much. Opening airstrike sank one, node support sank a second, and opening torpedoes sank a third. By the time the day battle was over, I was down to just the CV hime left, and that still took 4 hits to sink.

    @Etrigan

    How hard is node Q?

    Only going for the light CTF comp to save some resources by not going to Q.

    Edit: Also, that fleet comp goes through an extra air node right?

    Edit2: Would it also be better to use Intrepid over Akagi thanks to Intreprid's higher plane count? BTW, what would the LBAS recons do here? My LBAS setup is 2 of them being 2xFighters/Interceptors + 2xLBAS Bombers. The third LBAS is made up of Toukais.

    @goesto11 Good luck and hope you get it soon. I feel like every map for a long time has had a lot of RNG factor, which is why I've often opted for medium final clears just to not get angry at the game (particularly now that I don't have as much time).

    I missed the AL/MI shenanigans, but I still remember the map where the debuff expired after 24 hours so you literally had to sit there and try to beat it lest you had to redo the whole debuff process after reset. I'm honestly not sure if the game is better or worse now because it doesn't have these shenanigans anymore. lol
