    Lightbulb [Tool] Offline Wiki Tool

I'm currently working on an offline version of the wiki as standalone .net program as sometimes (I play with a standalone flashplayer) I find unconfortable to continuosly switch beetwen links and such. Do you think people here would be interested in a release?

Update: just some screenshots of the work in progress:

Let me know if you have any suggestion! :D
Currently working on the Quest data, hope to post more screenshot and a beta release soon.

    UPDATE 2:

    snap6.jpg

Added the quest Tab with working filters! Now a user can view all the quest of a particular type or with a specific set of resources.

    UPDATE 3:

Added Ship List (still need the class info):

    screenShips.jpg

    UPDATE 4:

    Added construction recipe tab.
Finally I've made a beta version for you all to try out. and test . Please note that being a beta version some mistakes in the Databases may be present, so help me out improving the tool by correcting them !

NOTE: be sure to have the latest .net libraries installed (in windows7/8 there is no need)

    UPDATE 5:

Added class information to the ships' tab, added double buffering for smoother scroll and data preloading. Improved overall graphics.

    screen8.jpgscreen10.jpg

Note: when i'll find more time, i'll try to put online a proper page for the tool.

    VERSION: 0.2.0
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/fqv3q617a7...e%20Helper.rar
    HOW TO INSTALL:
just unrar the directory and launch the executable file. Please allow some seconds for loading up all the data (future releases will be multithreaded for a smoother user experience)

Thanks to Chronomeister and Dragonjet for helping me out with the json data and the translation files.

Pretty interesting concept you have there, it warrants a new thread.

Thanks! When I have a barebone version up and running i'll be posting the executable here. The basic idea is that it is really simple to maintain and update as it relies on txt files and simple images' folders as databases so everyone can contribute to make it always updated. (Just like an offline site but with a much stronger correlation between data)

I'm not even sure what you mean. Might want to elaborate what you meant.

That because the program uses simple text files for gathering data and these text files are easely accessible from outside the program itself (i.e. in a separate directory) everyone can download the program, modify a specific text file (i.e. the ship list or the mission one) and post the modified version. Then everyone can replace the correspondent text file and have an updated version of theprogram too.

Other than that is much easier coding popup windows and informative tools with a programming language such as c# than using a wiki cms so I'm working on the user interface of this guide in order to make it easier to access information between different section (i.e in the ship list you can see all the ships but also for every ship you can see recipe, images, statistics and so on)

That sounds awesome! I have simple excel version but it's still in Japanese. Would love to see a simple clean version. Will you be adding everything in it though? Like the map route and stats etc.

Thanks! That's exacty what I hope to do, still converting all the information on the wiki in tabulated files is a long process :p

Well you need internet to play kancolle, and you usually look at wiki when playing kancolle, so still not really sure if the goal of the tool is to be "offline" or more accessible. If it is the former, I am not sure I really understand the necessity.
