    @Chia Congrats!

    I finally had one of these blood-pumping games @Mobius was talking about earlier on my Des Moines. Afteer two disappointing games, our division @Mobius in Zao, @Acrelle in Hotel and me in Des Moines) landed on Hotspot.

    Lineup:
    [+] Spoiler

    While the enemy team's lemming train prods slowly towards our cap, with a Khabby as vanguard, a Yuugumo and a Gearing guarding their flanks, our Harekaze slowly sneaks around the islands and starts capping. While the two ships closest to him start pleading for him not to cap while camping bow on, I rush to his support and take position right south of the cap zone, ready to ambush decappers. And oh dear it was a turkey shoot from my side. First, a Mino that stops in his smoke ; Radar+Freedom AP makes short work of him. Then a zigzagging Zao: the tries to stay bow on to me, but that means he's broadside to Harekaze, so off he dies too.Then comes the Hindy division, facing the same problem and dying predictably the same way. And finally a Montana comes, but he's broadside to a Hotel, whi finishes him.

    End screens:

    Ah, right. I should have made a thread in WoWS forums. lol
    Your post did not have the 2 screenshots btw.

    @Keyan_TTK

    Yeah. I found that the best way is to go binocular view at the start of the battle, wait for the zoom out advice to appear then zoom out. When the zoom in appear pressing shift will work afterwards. Otherwise at times it won't go into binocular view if I try it at a later portion of the replay when the zoom in advice pops up thus unable to remove it.

    Tried Operation "Narai" for the first time. Decided to try it with an AA Spec DOY, which worked out pretty well since there were lots of planes. Pretty easy for a first time run but we had insane AA and tons of ships that emphasize short ranged fighting.

    Tried it right away after this completion with Secondaries Build Scharnhorst, she just tears it up. This is a Secondaries Build, brawl type of operation as the map has lots of spawns where NPCs arrive at around 10km. The planes keep coming.

    Not too fond of BB players. So many are useless. This motherfucker had Full HP when I passed by him after killing the transports and going back into the center. We could have used the BBs up front to more quickly deal with Missouri, but no, our "Battle"ships sought to avoid "Battle."

    I did more work IN FRONT of the team than all of our BBs combined who stayed in the very back until the end "when it was safe to go out" after the Cruisers did the real work. Did better than them while using a goddamn Pensacola.

    Like all Ops, Narai can go extremely smoothly if the team knows what to do and the lineup includes two or three of the right ships (two or three Atlantas/Belfasts will clear up most of the DDs/ mission-critical cargo ships), who will carry the rest. I'm farming XP with Atlanta, Belfast, Indianapolis. I've tried with Shchors (decent, but lacks AA), Hood (has DefAA in case) and Nelson (the low speed isn't a drawback since you're escorting the cargo ships). Myoukou and her numerous clones are decent, Algérie and Yorck are meh. Bringing a DD or a CV not named Saipan is unadvisable.

    Well, this was easy. Just playing 100 battles took time.

    Been cycling my numerous Tier VIIs in Narai repeatedly to take advantage of the 1 day bonus to XPs. The ones I felt had the most team carry impact by fulfilling many duties to include AA:
    Scharnhorst
    Gneisenau - Been using my AA Spec Gneisenau. I am the team's air defense when I'm in front of everyone, even ahead of the Cruisers and DDs.
    DOY - Excellent AA, Hydro for the push into the bay.
    Indianapolis
    Pensacola
    Belfast - Really underrated AA that nobody mentions. I've always had mine with AAGM2 and that alone shoots down a decent number of planes.
    Atlanta - Perfect operation for her.

    Most of the other ships are passable, they can work just fine but they don't have the all around (i.e. AA) usefulness. I like to play my BBs in front of most of the team, dodging, weaving attacks, shooting stuff up, shooting planes down to the point where I don't need Atlanta to protect me.

    If Colorado was faster she'd be perfect. If you screw up on your driving, you're being left behind. Otherwise she'd have the sturdiness, guns, AA, handling for this op.

    Secondary Spec Nagato is real fun, just that mediocre AA bothers me as it can be annoying when playing up front.

    Fiji's great in working down the DDs and CLs very quickly.

    Myoko has that terrible traverse and her secondaries, which I make quite a lot of use for Cruisers this op, are terrible. But if the guns are facing the right direction, her firepower is still great.

    USN 8" AP on these Cruisers are amazing in just simply outright deleting the many Cruisers found in the op. There's no Kill Stealing if your USN AP is deleting the target in one salvo.

    I tried Ranger twice, lost both times with being on some TERRIBLE teams. Not fun, just run out of planes considering how often the op likes to sprinkle in Cleveland, Atlanta, and that Missouri.

    DDs just seem too fragile. The only use I ever see from them is for torping Missouri. Outside that, I see very little good use for them. They got no DPM. Torps take forever to reload. They're fragile and the first to die. If you want to spam DD caliber guns, Atlanta is better. Even Blyskawica & Leningrad is a stretch to use.
    =====
    Also, I decided to switch up my Yamato. I have Musashi with ASM1 and stealth / survival build. So I altered my Yamato to play differently. I made her with AA Spec! Catch CVs by surprise by making her an enticing target, i.e. being isolated from friendly AA.

    The match was over quick, as you can judge by the ships remaining, me firing only 87 shells. But the Enterprise focused her bombers against me with 2 all out bombing runs. Damage wasn't pressing. Even without ASM1, the guns are plenty accurate enough with 30 hits out of 87 shells fired. Hell, I was the one that did our CV a favor by deleting the Hindenburg.

    You should try Nelson too. A tad faster than Colorado, better gun layout that lets you use at worst two thirds of your firepower, and of course, Nelson's gimmicks. Just stick with the cargo ships to tank for them.
