    Visual Novel Recommendations Thread

This thread is to share any VNs you like or to ask for help finding a VN you might find interesting.

    I'll start:
    Katawa Shoujo

(I haven't played that many VNs)

    Little Busters!

Up to now, I believe that LB! has had the best common route of any VN I've played. Many of the routes have varying degrees of quality (sadly) although it's mostly up to personal preference as to which you like the best. Oh yes, and on Refrain... prepare for feels.

Hoshizora no Memoria - Wish Upon a Shooting Star

Best slice of life VN. Although, it's the only slice of life VN that I've known to exist. Great visuals, tons of references to astronomy (if the name wasn't obvious enough) and minor, basic references to science (cheesy usage of the conservation of energy in relationships... heh). Also, Kosame has an amazing h-scene (porn is why you play VNs anyway)

    Steins;Gate

Even if you've watched the anime, play the VN and have no regrets. Also has an official US port if you're into buying stuff legally, idk.

    Rewrite

Also by Key, and has an even greater variance of route quality (Lucia is best girl *cough*). Compared to LB!, this definitely deals with some more mature themes, although all this helps to build up the main character, Kotarou, who is very much badass by the end. Lots of WTF moments.

    G-senjou no Maou

I wish Death Note was a VN! Oh wait. It is.

    Chaos;Head

If you're a fan of horror, you'll probably like this VN. Characters in general though SUCK, due to a lack of development and overt use of archetype characters. The protagonist though... has Shinji-level cowardice.

Pretty good story. Although, I have not finished all routes.

    G-Senjou no Maou
Very good story, somewhat dark at times. Anyone genuinely interested in visual novels with a good story should give this one a try!

It's an 8 game epic about punching witches and chess and shit. If you watched the shitty anime, redeem yourself by playing this. Or if you a mystery/detective buff, or if you just like have your mind BLOWN to shit. Seriously though, if you like 999, Phoenix Wright type of shit, just play this shit. The first episode is free off the official website so give that shit a shot.

    SHIT HAPPENS.

If we're going to suggest traumafests, bring out the classics.

    Corpse Party
    Saya no Uta

    @MOGAMI
I really enjoyed the Majikoi series and highly recommend it. It was funny, relaxed, action-packed at times, and really well-made imo. I liked the art style and the vibrant personalities of the characters.

Seconded. Those are two of very few I've played, they're both really good. Corpse Party has a really nice way of telling the story, while Saya no Uta just is an amazing story over all (18+ tho').

Something out of the ordinary is dont take it personally, babe, it just aint your story. It's made by Christine Love, who made Analogue: A Hate Story (which some might know through Steam) - and while I haven't played her other works I really enjoyed this one. It's a really short story, and if I recall it doesn't have a big resolve, but it was fun to read through.
