    The major issue is the main reason people do events is for the new ship girls, and lesser extent the equipment. They can't really not put out 3~4 ships in a large event or 2~3 new ones in a small event without traffic loss or complaints.

    I do wish that they could make events over K2's but anything more than mini-events would leave people feeling "well this isn't really 'new'" unless they lock it past clearing an event map for an item like with 'Kakus. But I'd not sure want that to be the norm with how exclusive they'd be to quests outside the event and how much a pain in the ass those quests tend to be.

    @KotoNano I really just feel like this game needs rate up mini-events at the bare minimum. 3 years+ of service and no EXP up or bonus expedition return.

    Even when they want to give out stuff like the NY quest chain, there's a pretty annoying commitment of time/resources required in the first place that more or less offsets what they give you.

    I really am so flabbergasted why the devs just hate giving things.

    @ekel: Well, there's definitely room for non-capital ships such as you mention. Still, using your Atlanta-class, Isuzu example, problem is that Isuzu's AACI is weak - much weaker than Akizuki class and of course Maya Kai ni. So if devs are going to introduce ships based upon some new or existing mechanic, they need to make it worthwhile. As it is, Isuzu is an ASW specialist. Her as AACI ship isn't worth it even with the expansion slot changes. Fair point on a new (good) fast CVL. Last event certainly needed some of those. My Junyou Kai ni never left the docks. There's also the possibility at least of some thing like PT boats or perhaps mine-layers, but have to get the game mechanics execution right.

    I think KanColle is the only game I've played in the last 2 years that hasn't had some kind of log-in incentive. even MMO's do that shit now, meanwhile your only call to log into KC every day is so you can send out your expeditions... Just daily log in gift of like 500 fuel/ammo/200 bauxite not all at once just.. one of them for logging in would be what other games do, it's kinda silly how low an amount but it's still better than nothing.

    They have had "drop rate" ups like that nonsense isokaze and Littorio mini events and that scam Musashi LSC rate up but outside that nothing.. More things like that, regularly, would be pretty nice if they had them regular to you know... have people play without a major event going on. Every month without an event having a trophy event-only DD or two spawn on whatever absurd world 4/5 map they want is STILL better than nothing.

    @goesto11: Well, I just used Isuzu as an example of Light AA Cruiser. I imagine Atlanta-class APIs would be closer in power to Maya.
    But, since you mentioned it, I don't agree that Isuzu is just ASW specialist. Her main value is that she is both ASW and AA specialist. Sure, her API isn't that strong with only extra four planes down, but she still can crank up her AA above 115 now, which is actually pretty decent. AND, on top of that, she can still do a reasonably good OASW even without ASW equipment. That makes her ultimate escort ship, especially useful in combined fleet in later maps in events, where you are buggered both by sub nodes and air attack nodes en route to boss. Isuzu can help you with both using only one slot, and you can equip remaining five girls for boss-killing cut-ins. Depending on map and shiplock that is often reasonable trade-off.

    @KotoNano The games that don't have login bonuses are the games that aren't having trouble holding people's attention. When they see the stats that people are getting bored, we'll get login bonuses.

    Hmm personally i don't think Login rewards are necessary for Kancolle. Sure it would be nice, but having those daily quests and PvP's is already a big incentive to log in every day. Besides most people probably already log in mutiple times a day just to send out expeditions.

    Yeah but those games also get me to go on them more often than Kancolle but hey, we might get the friend system before log in bonuses.

    There's no "log on" incentive for KanColle other than to resend expeditions unless you actually feel like doing daily/weeklies. Sure it takes like 2~3 minutes tops but it doesn't scale up or give you "bonuses". Of course I don't think a daily log in would work for KC anyway with the way the game flows and how it's resource based.


    @ekel Isuzu does it all at a budget cost. She's effective at what she does, not the best and not the go-to for top effectiveness but she fills a jack-of-all trades niche where she can pull her AACI and OASW with the same set up and be pretty effective using high angle, air radar, sonar and the extra slot with an AA gun. Sure Isuzu's AACI isn't the strongest but I'd say she fits a solid fourth for being AACI because of it

    This is counting all akizuki as one option instead of 3.
    Kinu being the 'third' option along with the obvious maya
    Since Kinu has apparently stronger AACI and only needs 2/4 of her slots.. No idea on her activation rate though if it's garbage I'd rather Isuzu.
    since BB/V AACI is impractical even though it's almost on-par with akizuki, shoots the same down as if you try Maya's without a radar. So I'd say that Isuzu is a terrible ship to use for CL AACI comparison.
    I'd say Kinu with her 2 slot/5 shot-down is a more reasonable base to Isuzu's 3 slot/4 shot-down
    I'd point out that 5 shot-down on a ship that wasn't a pure AACI is pretty good considering Akizuki is designed completely around her AACI and only has 7. If an american AACI CL came into the game like Atlanta I'd expect at least a 6-shot down AACI unless japanese revisionist want to say Nagara-class CL were as good AA cruisers as Atlanta... But I'd expect a maya-level AACI but with DD-level FP.

    I say that because I think Maya's AACI strength is way too high and making any AACI too much stronger than Maya's would be worse than the situation with shinden kai and its' 15 fighter power which only stopped being so overpowering when they redid the whole fighter gimmick adding chevrons.
