    Type 32 Radar Crafting Help

    Been trying for more Type 32 RADAR and I can NOT seem to build these anymore. I get that the chance of success is low, but still should have had more by now over the past 1-1 1/2 years. Really need more of these not just improvement fodder, but also for dual support shelling expeditions.

    10/11/251/250 is what I used in the past (most popular RADAR formula with about 2% chance), but that's dried up a long time ago. Also tried 20/20/250/250 (another very popular formula). Lately 40/40/250/250 or 20/60/251/250 (about 2.4-2.5% chance) which I got from KanColle-DB (not a large data size, but at least 1400+ for either). Thinking about using 300 steel instead of 250/251 for chance of large torpedo bulge (have some, but not enough if I want to upgrade via improvement), but not sure if that messes up chance at Type 32 RADAR or not. Odd are small enough as it is.

    So, anyone have a good formula they want to recommend, please? I've got 77k bauxite which isn't a ton, but need the damn things so could micro-spam a bit I suppose. Also need some 46cm guns for 16"/50 Mk 7 improvement so fine with a combo formula. Feel free to throw in a flagship preference as well (been using BB). Shouldn't make a difference, but that's where I'm at these days.

    Thanks.

    @goesto11 well, this is what gives me radars 10/11/251/250 :P You won't get any better recipe.

    @goesto11

    I just always did the default 10/10/250/250 with varying flagships. Unfortunately there is no easy solution here except keep doing development. If I had to guess 15k per radar on average would be normal, 46cm were a lot easier in comparison.

    If you are crafting radars one usually ends up doing 6+11 permanently for until you are finished.

    @nwrtz What is 6+11?
    @goesto11 There is no such thing as a formula drying up, it is all according to the will of RNGesus. You should just stick to the default formula and more will appear sooner or later.

    Expeditions 6 and 11. I am not a fan of doing expedition 11 though. Just expedition 6 while "actively" playing, and 35 and 36 when afk for a long while. You have to be spamming development pretty hard to use up as much to require expedition 11, or have low amount of bauxite. It is overall just more efficient to do a couple of crafting attempts a day since you will eventually obtain those, unless you require the radars immediately.

    I also use the 10/11/251/250, though I only have 5x Type 32s, in comparison to the 7x Type 33s and 9x by-product-ish Type 14s ...

    All three has a reported rate of around 2% though.

    Since metal is practically free, its the bauxite and DevMats that matter.

    I use this formula mainly because of the high failure rate of around 50%, which is pretty good compared to other frequently used formulas.

    The bad thing it doesn't produce Type 22s for improvement.

    The 20/20/250/250 formula produces Type 22s (and all other useful radars including Type 32 & 33), but only half the failure rate.

    Thanks for the replies. What I figured - keep trying and hope RNG cooperates more. :/

    @nwrtz: 15k bauxite is about 1 in 60. Assuming KC-DB is accurate, the recipes I listed have a 1.97% or better chance so say 2% = 1 in 50 = 12.5k bauxite. Problem for me is I'm getting about half that for a considerable length of time. RNG and all, but really frustrating so I wondered if someone had a recipe to try like the "fighter recipe" that was posted long ago. Haven't been spamming Maruyu LSC like I was which helps, but it adds up, especially with so little return. :< And yeah, expeditions 6 & 11. Know them well.

    @Ren: I was using a metaphor. As for the default formula, according to KanColle-DB, that has the lowest chance of what I listed (1.97%) though the others are not much better.

    @kazenorin: Fair point about the dev mats, but I have like 2500 so not a problem. I have some Type 22 stockpiled for later improvement use (and some DD fodder to level for more), but perhaps go with 20/20/250/250 for a while any way. Couple more Type 22 wouldn't hurt I guess. Need those eventually for 16"/50 Mk. 7 + GFCS (whenever I get there).

    @goesto11 You're going to have to use a sufficiently large sample to see if things are unfair. Given how small a chance it is, you might need to do a few thousand trials.

    Also even at a 2% chance, in 50 attempts, you have a 36.4% chance of walking home with a big sack of nothing.

    You use BBs with balanced formula (250/250)? That's your problem right here. That will net you guns rather than radars. If you are using BB use 251baux/250steel formula. Use 250/250 only with CVs.
