@Lord Harrab USN CVs have superior fighters, superior DBs and more aircrafts per squadron. Two torps squadron is definitely too much.

... Of course, WG then proceeds to give us this abomination which has more alpha potential that even Skillway ever did with TBs.

@Mobius She was never even planned for T6. Way back when, when she still had the German "altitude" gimmick before her rework, she was planned to be T7, and was just flat out better than both Hiryuu and Ranger, full stop. So after giving up her Dive Bombers for Torpedo Bombers (the AP DB gimmick was originally planned to be German but was given to the USN), she got bumped up because the rework made her even more strong.

Weird that they would put her as tier 8. I mean sure with purpose built carrier planes she could have a higher capacity than she was suppose to have historically as if I remember right the airforce didn't want the navy to have specialised planes not under their control. So for instance none of the planes she was to have had folding wings for space saving.

The fact she uses torps instead of bombs strikes me as a bit strange to with the introduction of AP bombs to. Surely such acts as what happened to Roma would have seen Graf as a good choice for them.

But tier 7 really should have been the max for her being heavily based of Akagi's design and if she was to powerful then she should have been nerfed not buffed to be a tier 8. Wonder if that choice was made due to there already being Kaga and Saipan.

Well have to see how Shoukaku and Enterprise face of against her for the most powerful tier 8. (Since poor Lex ain't going to be as good)

Now to hope third time posting this is indeed the charm and sorry for any strange wording.

Some Graf Zeppelin preview videos have come up in the last few days. 2 examples:

One from Flamu (forum won't let me preview 2 videos in the same post, so here's the YT link):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bjNsvF_V28

Strange drop pattern, has some weird gaps but it should be good against BBs. Seeing those gaps make it look iffy against DDs at times.

    Air group is 2/3/0
    4 planes per unit / 5 planes / 0
    Reserves are 15 / 32 / 0

LWM posted a picture comparison of the manual torp drops of T8 CVs on Reddit:

And this is what GZ's drop looks like if you use all squadron in a single drop...

Skillway was totally OP, but this is fine balans tovaritch. Really hoping the health pool of the plane will be enough to balance this.

@M.A.Mitscher Your link points toward the same video as the one above, here's the correct one:

@Mobius The impressions I get from videos are the TBs drop like flies. Like Kaga's. So Graf's definitely going to need that reserve of TBs and she faces more lethal AA than what Kaga does.

Forgot to mention that image with all 15 Graf Zeppelin TB drop pattern is insane. Midway used to have 12 TBs but that was taken away because it was deemed OP.

Yet WG let IJN CVs at Tier IX-X maintain 12 TB fits.
Then they introduce Kaga that has 12 TBs at Tier VII.
They just sold Enterprise, like Saipan can have TWO TB units, but not the large plane count. Saipan only gets 6 TBs max, Enterprise gets 10 only. Not only that, WG punishes Enterprise with the ridiculously wide TB drop pattern.

Yet 12 plane TB drops is fine, except for USN.

Now they are going to release Graf Zeppelin with 15 TB drops and a focus drop that is so dense that it boggles the mind.

And 12+ TB drops is fine. For everyone except USN.

Really not a fan of how many torps graf has, and agree about how the USN is getting down powered heavily as of late with CV's, but thats nothing new.

Given her TP HP, Graf will never be able to do a full drop with all her planes: we are talking about T6 planes in T8 matchmaking on a CV unable to mount the +HP plane upgrade...

And for having played against 2 TB US squads before their removing, I'm really glad they are gone, and it should stay like that.

    More Zeppy vid:

Also, USN TB are sturdier than the IJN's, hence why the mere thought of two cross-dropping aren't welcome (but somehow a triple cross by a Taihou is fine)
