I watched an entire mess deck of sailors decide they'd rather go clean something than watch that POS. I think it was right about the time of sonar working in space.
All I saw were energy weapons in the trailer. Mass Drivers plz.

I have lifetime insurance on an Origin Jumpworks 325A and am really looking forward to the game. Maybe if enough people here are playing, we could make an Organization? That'd be neat. I'm planning to do bodyguard work for freighters and traders.
@Etrigan A few ships, including mine, have mass drivers.

Well, if you find yourself with a Freelancer or some ship that's great for exploring and think you'll need some protection from Pirates or whatever, do call me up.
I generally do well in games like this :D.

I've got my Orion now that should be enough for me!
Though... I do wonder what Chris has in mind to control the more undesirable elements of the player population. It's been said that they didn't like how EVE turned out and I got the impression that SC was "EVE without the assholes".

Personally, I loved EVE and all of the jackassery contained within (Mostly because the game allowed me to podkill them with my Minmatar ships), but I do wonder that as well.
There are probably a lot of ways to control that kind of population, both in-game and in the meta-game. We'll see what happens, I guess?

EVE is a game I enjoy reading about but I'd rather lose my testicles first than play again. And let's leave it at that.
One thing I can think of is a sort of NPC police force. But galaxy wide. I can think of plenty of ways to make life very difficult for scum such as you can only respawn in the edges of civilised space. Or having limited routes/NPCs that you can interact with. Things like that.
