    @Ken G

    I see. Guess I really should use my main Yamato and Musashi here in this map's Phase 1.

    BTW, how does the game tag ships with the Pink 31st Squadron and Grey Cavite Reinforcement Unit tags?

    Unlike the other tags that I encountered in this event so far, both of these tags are Striking Force fleets so I'm worried that one set of ships that I want to get tagged with the 31st Squadron tag gets tagged with the Cavite Reinforcement Unit tag instead and vice versa.

    @silentcap Bring at least 3 BB to get the Cavite fleet tag. You can verify that by forming your Cavite fleet first, then replace one of the non-BB ships with one from the 31st Squadron (assuming you are doing the 31st Squadron unlocks first). If you got the fleet correct, you won't be allowed to sortie due to the 31st Squadron tag ship.

    So... uh... how hard is it to reach the Phase 1 boss node?

    After unlocking the first boss node which turned out to be a tricky and tedious experience for me (see Pink 31st Squadron), I immediately set out to chipping the TP Bar down.

    Unfortunately, pass rate is kinda low for me and I'm using a slightly modified fleet comp that @Ken G used for Phase 1. The only modification I did is stuff all of I-14's slots with the best sub radars (the ones that give the most evasion) that I have. So far, only reached the boss node once (and S-Ranked it with a 370 TP deduction to the TP Bar) out of ~15 attempts. I used Vanguard formation on all the pre-boss nodes (Diamond formation in airstrike node) in the run that reached the boss node. Forgot to use node support but had everyone in the 7-ship Striking Fleet used for that run sparkled as well.

    Rather then removing tanks from your SS, add a minisub to CL/AV (and maybe a smoke if the sub node is a problem).
    Anyway, I can't really say anything since I didn't find a good reason to try hard and used a touchless fleet (1 retreat since I forgot SFFCF, 6 S and 1 A).

    @Ink20

    Tried what you said (stick minisubs in the AV and CL) and my pass rate improved a bit. The amount of TP I can chip off from the TP Bar is lower than my first run because of this. However, I'm still fine with this as I can reach the boss node more often than before.

    Thanks for the help.

    @Ink20: Thanks for the info. I think I'll try to just do as much as I can on Hard and God-willing, clear before Monday. If I get stuck, Med it is. I need at least 6 days (would like a week) for E-6H. At least the E-6H rewards - as far as I know, are not THAT important to where it's a huge loss if I don't get them b/c I have to drop to Med. RIP new ships unless luck drops though.

    Yeah, the best thing is the rangefinder but you don't really need more than 2, so...
    If I'll have time and find a decent way to make do without those new DD, maybe I'll try hard there just for kandex.

    Ugh... finally done with the BS that is Phase 1. I ended up using a lot of Mamiyas and Irakos to keep my fleet sparkled instead of going to 1-1 for that. Anyway, now I'm on Phase 2 (Boss Node T showed up in the map once the TP Bar is gone).

    Speaking of Phase 2, where can I see a Nelson-based fleet comp?

    Looked at @Ken G's fleet comp for Phase 2 and the only fleet comps there are a pre-LD one using Nagato and Mutsu dupes and an LD fleet that uses dupes of Yamato and Musashi.

    @silentcap: Yeah, Part 1 is not fun, but apparently E5 P2 is the second toughest part of the event after final boss.:/ You can use Yama/Sushi for LD, but I'm not entirely sure if there are routing issues with that. From what I've read, it's more you only need Yamato for E6 unlocking. E6 at least penalizes Yama/Sushi too much to be effective. Honestly, in retrospect I'd rather have saved my main Nagato & Mutsu for E5P2, but what's done is done. Just have to hope that FF will make enough of a difference.
